History itself is pure, whether the accounts are true or false can be debated but that's not the point. What conclusions are drawn from history are up to you. You can be an edgelord and scoff at your so called propaganda all you want, but that does not change the fact that you are mixing up the cause and the effect. Yes, history can be used to indoctrinate people it can be twisted and falsified, that's why you need to think a little further than discarding it and being ignorant of it and instead paying even more attention to it and studying it very seriously. Honestly, this is just pure fucking cringe and stupidity. People don't behave like this, it's not funny, it may work in only in something like anime where they could make a physical gag out of it, but here it just kills my brain cells and makes me want to stop reading. How about giving people character instead of just loading the story with a bunch of cliches? Ariel doesn't even feel like a normal person, for example, even a naive girl would feel apprehensive about the other ***, I'd wager even more than a savvy one(and no, the uncle excuse wouldn't work, get your head out of the gutter). Also making every interaction awkward doesn't make the story heartwarming, it "unexpectedly" makes it just awkward to read. By doing so, instead of making a compelling story, at every turn you give the reader a sharp reminder that this is purely fictional. I'm not asking for a serious story, no, on the contrary, I like relaxed and humorous ones, but this is just bloody awful.

Thing is, you don't. That whole "rogue" thing with daggers in each hand is completely made up, there is no reason for using two. In face-to-face combat daggers are kinda useless since they have less reach, they were only used in really close quarters when a knight fell down and a person on top used one to stab him in the cracks of his armour. They are kids too, so they need all the reach they can get and a spear is a good choice, especially against monsters who I imagine would have superior physical strength and thick skin. Even if you consider that a rogue is supposed to assassinate people then they don't need an additional dagger at all, since it's just one stab to a weak point. Also if you follow the usual trope and they had have a speed advantage, a spear would be great too, since they wouldn't have to risk getting too close.

honestly, could've made him a university student in his previous life. His character and the prologue could've been pretty much the same, but the stuff he learned would've been more believable. I understand that kids can learn a lot when determined, but real understanding comes later, when you come in contact with more high-level knowledge, since a lot concepts at school are simplified and only actually make sense when you learn university level math(math too lol), like thermodynamics, quantum physics, etc. Only then you can compehend how many of the laws of physics were actually derived, for example, for thermodynamics you need at the bare minimum a partial grasp of statistics or for quantum mechanics you need to at least understand what operators are.
