Stolen from real author. Should you want to read go to royalroad where it is available in full for free. It's times like these that make one lament not being able to give zero stars.
Translation seems fine Update stability unknown so just gave it a score so as to make my overall rating as desired because for no good reason that can't be determined indepently because of course it's the exact average of these 5 factors with no leeway. So the reason why I went for 3 stars was that it's a sign in, i.e. op wish fulfillment, never going to get 5/5 off the bat. As things went plot wise it started off fairly standard but the primary message seems to be anyone who has the slightest bit of power independent of the emperor is obviously evil and stupid. Valiant heroes who fought under the founding Emperor and became kings under him: obviously all working for demonic sects with no hint of respect/ sadness when plotting against him, his heir, and the kingdom they helped found. Foreign power is strong, attacks the empire less than a decade after it's known to have an at least similairly strong power. Less than a decade after that half brother of the Emperor stages a coup with demonic sects despite unknown superpower hanging around. Obviously the sects are evil with Buddhists adultering and thieving everywhere, as they are so well known to do. Its just stupid, ooh I'm not the Emperor, the MC, or a civil servant, I must commit crimes.
I've gotten to the point where if I usually understand what is being said I give 3+ in translation, but I suppose that's more sympathy than objective criticism.
You want nationalism, you got it. You want fine translation quality to be the best part of a novel, you got it. You want a decent premise to fall flat almost immediately, you got it. This novel has everything!!
