I see what's been done here Jason is the main character of a different book. I'm not sure if you're the same author of that book but did you have to use the similar quests and scenario as the book (He who fights with monsters) I do understand that this book will be different and you're trying to use different names.

how would the navy know that the (Skull) is now the black rose wouldn't they be instead chasing the ship that was just sold?

why not set the crystal up that's in the chest to not only store energy but also charge the internal batteries, then if there is enough extra for the beam from the eyes or eye depending on design then it would be better that way wouldn't it?
