This is a review of the first 20 chapters. The book starts out with a developmentally handicapped 4 year old protagonist being throw into a snow bank in the middle of nowhere. She is found by the poor but kind Wang family; the Wang’s decided to raise her as their own child. Ah Yu, the protagonist, has a space, system, and good luck. With in a few months she saves the village from disasters and becomes everyone’s favorite child. So far, the child abuse and psychopathic elder biological sister are only obliquely mentioned. The beginning is a cute and fluffy childhood story about accepting an adopted girl into a large family in an ancient Chinese village.

I was expecting more character development before the protagonist’s easy win. The main character had no police/law enforcement/ forensic training before transmigrating with a detective system golden finger. In the first case, the golden finger replayed the whole murder before the protagonist put in any effort. Then, his boss agreed to arrest the suspect with out a warrant or any direct evidence in hand (Cultureal Differences?). I would have preferred if the system only told him that a murder occurred and then forced the protagonist to solve the rest himself. Bottom line the protagonist’s golden finger made him look cool to other characters but did not cause any personal growth.

I believe she ( the kind sister) will tell her the truth. But, that mother will never give up valuables for as long as she lives.

So…she isn’t going to tell her teammates how she defeated the guardian? Isn’t that the most important piece of information?

Really!!! After the first murder attempt, which lead to her transmigration, the female lead “thought” her “relatives” would not try to kill her again? Is the legendary “how could they cheat on me again”? The first time someone cheats is treated as an accident, and the second time becomes a shocking event?

With a family like that, who would need enemies! I bet the only reason some of the brothers/sisters-in law paused was because they were worried about being added to Grandma’s hit list at a later date.

“Blood was red, and red was the color of prosperity!” Such optimism!

This was a surprisingly qiuck exit!

There are times when you should avoid being part of a couple’s argument. That was definitely one of those times!

This is a review of the first thirty chapters. The story is fast passed and the translation is mostly clear. This is a female lead transmigration novel with science fiction elements set in the 80’s. The female lead ( Mu Jingzhe) transmigrated into a novel about the brilliant and kind Mu Xue who was bullied by her aunt and cousin until she was rescued by the male lead (Tang Moling). Mu Jingzhe finds out that her character was supposed to be the early evil cannon fodder who “stole stuff” and argued with the female while chasing after “her” men. She is then later killed by her abandoned evil step-children. In reality (the plot), Mu Xue broke up her enlisted boyfriend when he brought back a child right before their engagement. This “great” lover then married her cousin (Mu Jingzhe) just to get someone to look after his 5 young children while he returned to the army. The first thirty chapters center on how Mu Jingzhe wants to avoid her bad ending by raising/protecting her step-children well hoping that they will not kill her when they reach adulthood. Along the way, the reader also finds out that the novel’s ml and fl are selfish pretentious people that are only attractive with the author’s rosey glass filter added on. This is a good pick if you like child care stories.

Would no one really notice Bai Yun guiding the battle plan?
