I, Dungeon

I don't remember much of my life before what I am now. A re-occurring nightmare of violence, pain and darkness greets me every so often to remind me of the fact that I was once something beyond what I am now. The loom of a big metal grill, the crunch of cement as the vehicle hopped the curb. The sickening crunch of an impact and then the tell tale thump thump, thump thump... as the wheels bounced over a broken tattered form. Heart rending pain then stillness. No wailing sirens, no screaming people. Such solitude. Did I die? Where am I? Is anyone there???? I'm scared. Please can anyone answer me?? Silence and darkness. Is this all the after life is? Empty loneliness? Will I go mad? Please! There has to be someone! Anyone! Please! I'm scared! Nothing. I'm alone. . . . . . . ~ Crack ~ A sound?! I'm not alone! HELLO! Answer me please! Who's there?! ~ CRACK ~ ~ CRACK ~ What is that? Is that light? I CAN SEE! Wait. What the hell is this? Is that me? No... No way.... Immortal Skeleton

The arch lich Balthus has a secret, his humble beginnings saw him as a reincarnated human. Sent to the world as a simple skeleton, the God that accidentally killed him granted him a boon that in seven centuries saw him rise to power over a vast yet surprisingly benevolent necropolis. Decades later Balthus is schemed against and thrown down by the generals who guided him to power. Yet as death drew his soul away, he found himself before the God again who apparently didn't register his life as 'Balthus' with the Goddess of reincarnation. Her bi millennial inspection is coming up and she needs his name in her book, like last century. Whats a God to do? Give the lad a second chance of course, clerical error isn't his fault! Yet his time as an arch lich has made the lad proud and vying for more he offends both gods to reclaim his old power in his new life. Testing the patience of one God is bad enough but the goddess as well? The Dragon Gods Awakening

Marcus runs afoul of robber-kun and is reborn as a fallen god, as the deposed dragon god he must come to terms with his divinity and the knowledge that of the pantheon he is the most despised for no other reason than he is the Dragon God. This world is not kind, he will have to survive not only the challenge of reclaiming god hood but dealing with a world that would gladly do away with him. This is a work in progress I've had sitting in inkstone since around the time I started The Immortal Kobold, you may note a drastic difference in chapter lengths, this was typed before I settled on a "standard" for myself so they range from 1300 words to 2900.
