well, it is too wrong regarding elements: The Chinese had a somewhat different series of elements, namely Fire, Earth, Metal (literally gold), Water and Wood, Generating Wood feeds fire; Fire creates earth (ash); Earth bears metal; Metal collects water; Water nourishes wood. Overcoming Wood parts earth; Earth absorbs water; Water quenches fire; Fire melts metal; Metal chops wood.

For me it looks like author decided that establishing world peace is not challenging enough so he decided to write this story... Countdown till author abandons the story: 5 4 3 2
