True, although even the toughest of ninja or most legendary can be taken by surprise. Yes, he was prepared for a spar, but it didn’t seem like he was really expecting much so was able to be surprised in this case. He didn’t have his eyes active, nor did he have the mindset of facing a potentially dangerous opponent.
