Prolly because you were refunded, the coins you used before the refund were automatically deducted for it. Ex. You bought 7.99$ worth of coins (250 coins), then you unlocked chapters and consumed 200 coins, which leaves you with 50 coins. However, you were refunded right after you used the coins which means wn can't take back the coins you already used to unlock the chapter. That means your account is now -200 coins and they will deduct your coins when you top up until you pay off the 200 coins. I hope this explanation helps.
