it's even more far fetched. I bet you don't know how a car works if you invent such crazy ideas. plastic worse environment is heat, it can dilate so easily at not so high temperature and its common knowledge. beside I don't really know how the different kinds of plastic are made but I bet it's way easier to melt metals in large quantity than produce plastic in such era. Are there also plastic wires that conduct electricity? heat resistant plastic? plastic recycling method made of plastic? lol

The only place they were somewhat lacking were safety precautions, and as for education, it seemed to be even better compared to earth.
