You have done very well in bringing the old god's influence to the forefront. Their role has been portrayed very well. The purpose for bringing in the changes to the timeline by the old god's was to combat the white walkers. I f you can fulfill that purpose in getting rid of the white Walker story line, go for it. But if you can't, i say keep it. It will take you quite a few more chapters to deal with the sout then the dragons. you can come up with something by then
