well yes but there's a difference between wanting to friends with certain type of people and wanting to be friends with certain type of people while totally ignoring(npc-ing) other people. If the one doing it have been a average looking guy side character in a story people would have been like "oh my God, he's/ she's so conceited", " what a cold hearted bitch". and mc's are usually the ones who are being overlooked.

sorry about the late reply, I mean since when are they experts or familiar about sciences related to space? long nosed is more of an engineer and nami is more knowledge about climate and weather and even than after the time skip. Robin is historian. none have any background which might help then in the subject, they didn't have standardized education so mostly specialization is their jam.
