The MC really p*sses me off. He's always a passive coward who doesn't take the initiative in anything and just spends most of his time whining about his situation. After becoming a Demi-Servant, he doesn't take any time actually figuring out what he can and can't do with his new abilities. Dude, doesn't have an original though in his head and only does something when he's pushed into it. OG Shirou has his issues as well, but compared to this pathetic, waste of space OC-Insert, he's practically perfect.
I can't say I'm a fan of introducing characters from other fandoms like Kuroka. I guess I'll have to see if this is the only time or not. If more characters from other fandoms show up, I'll stop reading this story.
The last chapter was published more than 20 days ago. Is this story abandoned?
Bruh, Technician only increases the moves power by 50%, so Bullet Punch would increase from 40 to 60, not 80. The Author apparently can't do basic math...
The hell is a Pokémon Illustrated book? Just say PokeDex. Please take some time to actually proofread and edit the chapters to make them easier to read.
A somewhat entertaining story. The translation is occasionally quite rough. The MC has moments where he just comes across as an asshole. Finally the MCs system feels completely superfluous, since it barely shows up and most of the recourses the MC gets from it are things he could've gotten himself. It feels like the author included the system just because novels with systems are popular and the story could've easily gone the same way without it.
So far it's a very entertaining fanfiction. I love that the MC actually utilizes his knowledge of the manga, anime fillers and movies to find and grab opportunities to strengthen himself and his village, instead of being passive like other SI MCs, who desperately try to preserve canon. It's also good to see that the MC doesn't bootlick Konoha. I've seen several fanfics where the MC was born in a shinobi village other than Konoha, but still acted like they were from Konoha and cared about it more than their own village...
In chapters like this you can really tell it's a Chinese fanfic, because of lines like 'Young Master' or 'Frog in a well'...
This is an updated review after giving the story more of a chance and reading all 147 currently available chapters. The translation quality is overall good. The TL changes the Chinese names to western names, although they sometimes fail to change some of the names, leading to awkward situations where you don't know which character is being talked about, forcing you to puzzle it out through context clues. Originally I complained that the MC wastes a lot of time on catching Pokémon he doesn't immediately need and even wastes time shiny hunting, when he could just power-level his starter, speedrun the game and have enough time to hunt for perfect IV shiny Pokémon. After reading more of the story it's clear that the game in this story is far more difficult than the regular Emerald edition and speedrunning it would pretty much be impossible. I still dislike the fact that the story is set in a version of the real world with Pokémon instead of the world of the Pokémon anime. The parts of the story that focus on the "real" world tend to be more boring compared to the parts about the game. At least that's my personal experience so far.
Bro, you're already replacing the characters chinese names with western ones, so why would you not give Flannery her English name?
