Correct, but the Prof has added shields to Jean before and they lasted when she was out of his range, so I am taking it once they setup it is like a normal wall, built and stong.

Valid question. The answer for him is karma. The way I see it is even if you do a bad thing, but seriously believe you did it for the right reason (and never killed a bunch of innocent people) then your karma would be positive, those are the people he helps. There were some villains I was going to help on the suicide squad but their history changed in the YJ universe :( Ruined my arc.
