A Girl In The Night!

A surge of knowledge filled his brain with the memories of the dark mage, a man that was at least in the fourth circle according to the mages rankings.

Who could have thought zombies had such frightening abilities, of course Keryan knew it because that world was like this bloody game he played and that caused his death.

During the game, zombies were tough to fight and hard to deal with if not focused at the start of the fight and why?

That was obviously because of their innate ability to steal power from their victims, making them true monsters that could evolve in the middle of a battle and gain monstrous strength.

Keryan was now one of them and thanks to his previous experience and strong mental power, he had succeeded freeing himself quickly out of the control of the spell caster.

In a matter of seconds, he obtained the power of a novice mage but it was not sufficient to handle alone these hundreds of undeads!

He racked his brain hard at what he had to do and he began to hunt for the other dark mages.

His reasoning was simple and because he didn't have much time before dawn, he set off quickly to annihilate the other mages. It was the only solution he had been able to think of in such a short time.

icy rain seeped into his rotten flesh and mud stuck to his toes as he inevitably advanced towards his next target, a hooded figure surrounded by a large, magical pattern.

Slowly but steadily he neared the mage until he reached the border of the spell.

The next instant the hooded figure turned in his direction and shouted.

"What are you doing here, you should be in your position, tell me quickly!"

Keryan was slightly struck, not knowing if he should answer or directly rush forward.

In the end he didn't have much time and just decided to attack right away without further explanations.

He threw the bone staff in the magical pattern with all his might and jumped with his sharp and rotten nails aiming for the throat of his enemy!

The magical spell flickered intently under the sudden attack and the mage screamed!

"Impudent, how dare you?!"

With a wave of his hand he made a small ball of green flame appear instantly and threw it at Keryan.

The new zombie didn't have the time to dodge and took it right in the chest, the impact forcing him two steps back.

Green flames began to burn his black hooded robe making his rotten torso suffer greatly, but as a zombie he didn't feel the pain he should have and launched himself again toward the mage even more fiercely.

The dark mage eyes widened when he saw his opponent was an undead, but he was experienced enough to think quickly and change his attacking method, so he casted all his mental power through the bone staff in order to banish the undead from the world.

Unfortunately for him, that zombie had already broken off his defense and was unaffected by his fiendish flames! The man struggled desperately, but in close combat range he was a joke in front of any good fighter, and zombies were killing machines in this fighting field…

Then, in a matter of seconds the face of the dark mage was shredded, and he died just like this...

Keryan was a bit disgusted by the awful sight but he couldn't do anything about it, to save himself first but also to save the villages, he needed to make the mastermind disappear.

A new feast entered his stomach bringing new strength and information to digest.

Because of that he rapidly became more alert of his surroundings and spotted the next hooded figure that was not so far, but before going to hunt his next prey he didn't forget to replace his hooded cape and bone staff.

During this time many zombies and skeletons had stopped to attack and started wandering like some lost people.

He passed by a zombie that was scratching his head and stopped and told him: "Don't think too much, look I'm an undead too, leave with our comrades toward the forest, that's all we can do for now!"

"Uh?"

"Nevermind… Just wait until I solve this!"

Keryan patted the undead's shoulder and left without a care because he knew that he had a big problem. In normal circumstances every undead summoned back to life would have perished the moment the caster that had linked them died, however this magic was not simple necromancy. They had really come back to life… in a way.

"I didn't pay attention to this when I was playing the game but it seemed that it's truly the case, since I killed two dark mages, they aren't any undead that have returned to their former dead state... Hm, how problematic, this fucking prince is going to chase after us until the last undead return to the graves!"

With this thought in mind, Keryan didn't lose another minute and just rushed in the direction of the remaining dark mages.

He was also frustrated because he had gained the knowledge of using their dark magic, unfortunately as a zombie he didn't have any mana, but while thinking of it he suddenly stopped in his tracks and exclaimed loudly: "Crap! How could I've forgotten that! These magic people have a kind of magical crystal in their stomach, that was a stuff I never miss to loot during the shitty game!"

Indeed, in the game, these magic shards were the main resource to upgrade the magical power of the hero.

Wanted to check this assumption as soon as possible, Keryan backtracked until he found the bloody corpse of the previous dark mage he killed. He gulped a mouthful of saliva in disgust and plunged his right hand in the mage, searching for this so-called magic shard.

This action didn't last for long but it was mentaly frightening, and he finally found a tiny shard the size of a pebble.

As he touched it, he instantly felt a strange power coursing at the surface of his fingers but without knowing what to do without it he just shrugged his shoulders and threw the magic thing inside his mouth and gulped it at once.

Suddenly, a strange, cold sensation spread from his dead stomach to all other parts of his body.

You could see his dead fish eyes momentarily shone with a green glow while Keryan was experiencing the mana wonders.

As a zombie, he was already much stronger than a living human and now that he was acquiring some mana he felt himself on another level.

The shard was slowly dissolving under the zombie's aura of decay, and after some time, the green glow in his eyes rotated until it formed a full circle, making Keryan become a first circle mage just like that.

"Good! Now I need to hurry up and take care of the rest of those bloody mages!"

Filled with a new power, Keryan didn't hesitate anymore that's why he chose to finish the job as fast as he could.

With his determination and his innate zombie characteristics, he ran in the mud under the heavy rain, not caring at all for his appearance. From an external point of view he looked like a creature coming straight out of hell.

A lightning bolt flashes in the sky, it was the moment Keryan chose to attack the next dark mage. The poor guy was only a confirmed apprentice of the first circle and didn't have the slight chance, he was ripped like wheat by the putrid and sharp nails before falling to the ground, dead.

Keryan repeated the bloody feast and didn't miss the tiny shard. He didn't feel any joy about this, as a human he felt all of this was wrong, but these mages were guilty of defiling the sacredness of death and using ancient people as cannon folders in their war.

Who was right and who was wrong? Who cares? The result was the same, a bloody war that would kill innocent people.

In any case, Keryan didn't understand much about the reason behind it, in the game the Hero was only a young prince filled with ideals and a strength rivaling gods, accompanied with a beautiful priestess by his side.

He wasn't a bad man, but he was also a machine of destruction, hunting and killing every creature he met, to purify the land during three whole hours of gameplay. While playing, the screen did show the killing achievements of the player, and Keryan remembered to have reached more than ten thousands of enemies killed during his sole game.

That's why he couldn't help but feel fear toward this man.

Fortunately, he had a few hours to handle the situation here and retreat before this war machine entered the scene.

And so, he continued his own sin, massacring each dark mage, necromancers, and when the last one was in his sight, he only wanted to finish as quickly as possible and end this bloody mess.

But when he reached this last one, the hooded figure fell on his butt, letting appear a beautiful face with pointy ears and icy blue hairs cascading like a fairy waterfall.

Keryan's mouth opened wide in shock, displaying his putrid teeth.

The girl looked at him in horror and screamed loudly.

"KIIIIAAAAAAKKK!"
