Worry
"Are you okay?" Maya asked as she arrived at Nate's apartment. After a long day of plotting and shopping, she was exhausted, but she couldn't help but notice the odd aura around Nate.
"Of course!" Nate said as he gave her a smile that didn't quite reach his eyes. "I got to spend the entire day at work with Gabriel and my dad and grandpa called."
"Oh, I've never heard you mention speaking to them," Maya said as she gently stroked his back. "Do you not get along well with them? Is there a problem? A— a— a—"
Seemingly picking up on her hesitation, Nate shook his head, "No, Maya, they aren't asking me to come home."
Maya let out a breath of relief, she had no idea how much the thought of Nate leaving bothered her.
She knew it was a matter they would have to discuss in the future, she had her life here and he had to go back to his family as well.
