Who Was Linda Hall?

Nathaniel sat back as he listened to the phone on his table ring.

His gaze went from Nico to Ezra, then to Angel who was pacing across the room.

"Calm down," Nathaniel hissed, making Angel sit.

He glanced at his phone, worried that he would be caught saying the wrong things when Jay finally answered his call.

On another phone placed on silent, Maya and the others waited for news.

A lot hinged on whether or not Nathaniel could convince his former best friend that they knew nothing of his betrayal.

"I'm sure Jay is well," Nathaniel said as he noticed the call was picked up.

He wanted Jay to believe that they were genuinely worried about his well-being.

"Nathaniel?" Jay's voice quickly came from the phone, making everyone lean forward.

"Jay! Thank god you picked up, we were worried," Nathaniel said as Ezra grinned at his brother.
