Moms' and Gabriel's Visit
"They are fine, don't worry," Nathaniel said as he pulled Maya against his chest.
She rested her head on his strong muscles, feeling more at home in his arms than anywhere else in the world.
"Mr. De La Rue," a doctor called out as he knocked on the door.
"You may enter," Nathaniel had instructed earlier that day that no one was allowed to enter the room without knocking first unless it was an emergency situation of course.
That rule wasn't exactly placed for the staff of the hospital, but rather for his nosy relatives and friends.
After Max and Emilia reluctantly left, the former reminded the latter about her work, Ezra had popped in twice, Edmond and Carlton three times, and Nico at least once. Maya and Nathaniel tried to accommodate everyone, but unfortunately, it still took up too much energy from Maya's end.
"We're here to check up on Miss Miller," the doctor informed Nathaniel.
