"Guess what we learned today," Clark said with what was probably the biggest smile on his lips.
Nathaniel rolled his eyes as his assistant and best friend sat on the couch with an audible thump, unbothered by what couldn't have been a soft impact.
"Let's hear it then," Nathaniel grumbled.
He had lost count of the number of times Clark entered with the same amused look on his face only to tell him about the latest gossip about him and Maya.
The rumors had gone as far as making it seem like Maya was just a beard to cover up his true relationship with Clark or Jay.
"Oh, you'll want to hear about this one," Clark chuckled. "I was just on the phone with Katlin and—"
"Katlin?" now Nathaniel was intrigued.
Not only was Katlin Maya's assistant now, but Nathaniel was well aware of the long-standing attraction between her and Clark.
