"Boss, we lost him," Nathaniel could hear the disappointment and shame in Clark's voice.
His assistant rarely failed, and when he did he took it too much to heart, seeing it as a complete reflection of his abilities despite the hundreds of successful tasks and missions he had executed.
"No, we didn't," he announced as he rounded a corner and appeared face to face with Clark and Nico with a smile on his lips.
In his hands was a tablet with a blinking red dot on a map.
It was moving a few seconds prior but had stopped.
"I thought you were staying behind in the office?" Nico asked his sister's boyfriend as he scratched the back of his head.
Not only had an assassin and a soldier failed to capture the older man, but here was Nathaniel acting as if he had found a way to catch Zachary.
"This way, follow me," Nathaniel said with a smile on his lips as they weaved through the crowd.
