DISAPPOINTED

"Hi! Sia, I hope you remember me. We met only once though, at my engagement", Sia said enthusiastically, although she met him for 5 mins as he need to leave before the event started. She is aware that he is introverted by nature, so she started the conversation.

"Hi Bhabhi (term for Sis-in-law in Hindi). How are you?", he asked.

"I was good till our car didn't break down. But let it be, thanks for picking us up. otherwise we might need to wait for hours here".

"It's fine with me as it was on the way".

Sia pushed Yashi forward, who was standing quietly.

"She is my cousin", she pointed.

"Hi, I am Yashi. Nice to meet you", she replied in a formal tone as if meeting some colleague.

Rajveer was stunned. He kept staring at her. On the other hand Sia told her not to be so formal as they are all going to be a family.

Rajveer was still in a daze then he tightened his fist and controlled his emotion and replied courteously, "Hi, Rajveer. Nice to meet you too".

Nobody knows what was going inside his mind at this point. There were questions that he wanted to need answers for. Why? Did she forget ? Or is she deliberate? But here expressions are so calm and composed? But then they are too calm and composed to be true? He is a mess. He just wanted to drag her and ask her everything. But it is not the perfect time.

"Let's go. Hop in the car", he said in his monotonous tone. He started putting their luggage in the car.

The girls moved toward the car. Sia opened the back seat and settled there and closed the door, surprising Yashi.

"Di (term for big sis in Hindi), open the door. Why you closed it?", she asked confusedly.

"You sit in the front. He is not a driver that you wanted to sit at the back seat. It will be awkward otherwise", she said with a look saying 'isn't it obvious?'.

"Then you sit there. I will sit at the back", she retorted. "He is your brother-in-law, not mine".

"No-No I can't. My baby has asked me to only sit in front sit when he is driving. Only he has the right on this", she said with an obvious blush on her face.

I felt like smacking my mouth. Why I even asked? To eat dog food. She has changed and now it is torturing to the extreme. Before I could say anything else, she received a call and yes no need to ask whom it is from. After picking it, it entered another world all together.

"Forget it. I will sit in front. You enjoy your talk", Yashi said and opened the front seat.

As soon as she sat down and closed the door, Rajveer also entered the driving seat, and he paused in surprise as if he wasn't expecting her to be sitting there. But it was just for a few seconds before he took his seat. After 5 mins, Yashi noticed no movement from the side, and she turned towards him and raised her brows, as if asking why he is not moving.

He turned and leaned towards her, she was shocked and this is the first time he saw her in such a proximity. Her expressions of shock and anxiety made him a bit irritated, and he doesn't know why.

He moved closer and whispered, "put on your seat belt".

She was dazed, her heart was beating erratically, but she didn't let it show on her face. She just put her seat belt nonchalantly. Then she turned towards the window and started watching the landscape.

Rajveer's hold on steering increased and some more and it might damage it. He took a few deep breaths and focused on driving. Exactly what was he expecting? Why is he feeling disappointed?

He was always alone in this, then why have expectation. But he just cannot stop himself. He just wants the same emotions to be reciprocated. He just wants to know that he also had, if not a very big but, a very small impact on her.

But he was left disappointed. Maybe he just graded himself much higher.
