In life, a person grieves the loss of three things the most.

The first one is easy to imagine. You change from the sorrow of losing your parents! And if you're unlucky and have a good family, it makes everything worse.

Secondly, when your child dies before you, the feeling is even worse. Anger is added to the sorrow, and you become angry at yourself, those around you, and life itself. You want to shatter the universe in this scenerio.

The third one happens when you feel death approaching. As your entire family, friends, and even familiar faces from your neighborhood diminish, you stare into the void with your aged body for hours. You feel the ending of your life and your meaningless existence on Earth.

That's when despair is added to your sorrow and anger. Three different losses bring three different bad feelings that fill your entire body.

Eren gazed towards the sky, filled with sadness and hopelessness. He stood at the graveyard, trying to buy a burial plot near his beloved wife's grave. However, he received news that the entire cemetery where all his loved ones were buried was full.

"If only I could be close to them after I die..." he whispered.

His heart raced, and his body felt numb all the way to his toes. He appeared tired and exhausted, but his will to live was still strong. Even though he wished for a sudden death, he did not suffer a heart attack. Maybe tomorrow will do.

He desired to pass away and enter the afterlife as soon as possible. Yet the gods had different plans for him. He returned home from the cemetery and prepared a simple dinner of tomato and eggs. He ate it with fresh onion and a small Italian salad while watching television. In 2083, he was one of the few remaining people who hadn't replaced their old television.

"The youth of today don't remember the good times we had with this television." he sighed deeply.

At 9:30, he felt very tired and took out his dentures before lying down on his bed. He covered himself with a thick blanket and slowly closed his eyes. He expected to dream as usual and wake up early in the morning.

But the old man saw a strange whiteness that surprised him for the first time in a long time! As the seconds passed, the whiteness grew, and Eren's consciousness became sharper. For the next minute, this strangeness that made him nauseous continued. Just a minute later, he didn't feel like he was asleep anymore.

He started looking around at the white colors with a completely vivid and awake consciousness. He knew that the last thing he did was lay down on his bed, who he was, and that he was still in a dream.

"What's happening?" he wondered.

If he was younger or someone who worried a lot, he might have been scared. But not even a single movement in his facial expression showed his concern. Eren was a man who had experienced so much sorrow in his life that nothing could truly faze him.

He was a man who had traversed the abyss and found himself on the other side. There was nothing left to lose for Eren, nothing left to live for, and nothing left to fear. He had already borne the unbearable, having endured the three saddest things a person could go through in life, all in a row.

The losses had come hard and fast, relentless in their cruelty. Two brothers, lost to illness and disability, a sister murdered by her husband, a mother taken by cancer, and a father consumed by multiple strokes and paralysis. His wife perished in a car accident, his lost his adult son (25) lost to a catastrophic earthquake, and his little daughter, a victim of a brutal and senseless rape-crime(21).

The last time he had a family member alive, was over four decades ago when his daughter breathed her last.

Eren was a shell of a man, having experienced such unspeakable tragedies. But he had found a way to keep going, to keep living in a world that was determined to tear him apart. He had no expectations from life, no hopes, no dreams, and no desires. His heart was cold, his soul empty, and his mind numb.

But even for a man like Eren, there were still surprises to come. The whiteness around him began to grow and envelop him, until he found himself in a room of pure, pristine white. He reached out to touch the white void, but as he moved closer, the whiteness twisted and turned, moving away from him with each step.

Eren tried again and again to approach the white wall, but to no avail. He eventually gave up, believing it to be a mere hallucination caused by the medications he had taken. But Eren was wrong.

With a sudden rush of air-like twist, a massive door appeared before him. Before he could even react, the door opened and an invisible force pushed him inside. As he passed through the threshold, Eren began to lose consciousness.

In that brief moment, he felt a soft hand pushing him forward, and he remembered his mother's tenderness.

And so it began, Eren's journey into the unknown, a journey that even the gods could not always survive.

For a man who had nothing to lose, it was a perilous path, filled with treacherous twists and turns. But Eren was fearless, a man who had already faced the worst that life could throw at him. He was ready for whatever lay ahead.
