What is power?

Truly ask yourself at the end of my thoughts.

After the world ended in 2055, nothing is of common sense.

That year, a crash site was discovered, and buried underneath was the discovery that led to my existence and demise. Meg-X is a liquid born from the compounding of elements along with the identified Carrier of the new energy source, a meteorite.

Scientists around the world deemed this discovery evolutionary with advancements in the discussion of extraterrestrial life outside the solar system.

That did not matter. What really mattered was what came after the discovery, we call the "Unveil" of evolution. Soon after the discovery, world powers began to fight over the rights of the discovery, China, the US, the EU and even Russia couldn't help it.

A new cold war brews new civil wars collapsing minor cities. Phase 2 of the "unveil" had commenced. After that Meg-X turned on us. The very precious resource we fought over was slowly poisoning us.

Phase 3, the plague of choice. Killing and reducing the population of 8.9 billion on Earth to a mere 15 million. Countless lives were lost. How do you ask? The resource's hidden power slipped through the government's observation. The meteorite was changing the exposure of Meg-X through the atmosphere, it ignored all laws of energy and directly changed the ozone layer to better produce an environment suited for the fallen star's growth.

From the corpses that grew with the phase, families were tortured by the silence of death that came to their loved ones. Nothing, no cure, no way to prevent it. This swiftly cleared the path for the new age.

The presumed final phase. F Phase 4.

The awakening of the modern generation. Gen-X. Named after the first subject of evolution. Subject 035R-X. An unidentified man, contained by the government, showed symptoms of mutation from the atmosphere's changes.

Soon after, the surviving population of 15 million experienced a new change in the human gene. X-cr factor, the cause of the evolution.

With the evolution, the human body slightly adapted to the Meg-X changes and absorbed it and made it part of it. The affected person felt more energetic pain, and limitations to his thinking capacity. As a matter of fact, he is rumoured to have a higher intellect because of it.

Two years passed, and A new government was elected to combat the mutation and lead humanity to a greater age of survival and prosperity. Constructed, Cen City, in honour of the fallen people over the years.

This did not stop the mutation. Beautiful. Extraordinary. Fascinated. You would think seeing a newborn child.

This was not the case when the first Gen X came. A baby girl with her veins bustling around her weak baby body. The doctors, you would imagine feared the worst, undisclosed the child did not survive, life was taken from it. The culprit... You can imagine the rest. More cases came to be with newborn children. The veins gradually disappeared or became less visible around the age of 5 for most children.

Meg-X was rainbowish in colour, never underestimate the power of a rainbow, one drop could not only kill a man but ignite a micro-explosion of the radius of a room, disintegrating anything within a meter.

The children monitored grew in discovery of their supernatural abilities, increased, strength, speed, agility and unique of all, Meg-X producing. I repeat the weapon has now basically become public. Criminal organizations arising after the opposition of the government took this opportunity to kidnap, purchase and trade these children to the highest bidder.

The Meg-X production varied by individual some less influential than the other. These children become the next generation. My generation.Ancient history.

My name is Liam En Hellsworth.A citizen of Cen city. I'm a 19-year-old man still living with my father. Nothing I hate more than that. I still love him though. It's been three years. A lot has changed, in society, people and technology.

Specifically technology, everything now is supplied by Meg-X. To prevent weaponization it, a less dangerous form was released to the public, so diluted it wouldn't even look like the colourful Meg-X you would hear about. Its diluted form looked like sticky, white loose sap. Still poisonous to people if not treated, regardless.

I have lived a comfortably normal life with my father, my mother abandoned me at birth so I would know true suffering. What I know is that my father was there for me every step of the way. Many call him a coward for being a mechanic rather than going back to serve. He fought during 2 Phases of the Unveil. He never talks about but I read his old files.

He may be my loving father but he will never understand me. What I truly want.

What do I truly want? To be a part of Gen-X.

One way or the other. To be truly powerful.
