Inside the Capital

Venator walked further down the new path. The place was far more packed than the road before with more stalls and more people from different walks of life strolling around, buying to selling their products.

Looking at the rows of buildings, his eyes stopped at one particular, farther inside the capital bext to another large building with it's own set of walls. The cathedral and the castle of the capital.

Venator started walking down the road, seeing the cathedral in his sights. Finally finding a place to meet the god of the world.

Deeper down the road, the people looked more and more well dressed, clothing far more detailed and expensive compared to the folk at the roads behind Venator.

The true size of the cathedral was revealed as he finally arrived. Towering above all other buildings, standing next to the walled off castle, guarded by more soldiers. A massive bell rested above the cathedral, housed inside a small tower. People in dark blue cloaks walked around, reciting prayers or chatting to one another. The door to the cathedral was large, filled with engravings etched into it's surface. On the sides of the door were statues, statues of armored soldiers and merchants carrying different tools in their hands.

"They seem to love their god or gods deeply here." Venator thought to himself.

As he looked around, the bell chimed, ringing loudly as Venator looked slightly frightened by the sudden ringing. The ground began vibrating. All people in robes stopped in their tracks, all staring at the bell while others were simple passing by or joined in.

The bell chimed a few more times before finally stopping. The robed people all started heading to the door.

It opened wide to the interior inside, a large place with benches in rows facing to the front, extending deep into the large place while only a few were sitting down on them. Above was a large chandelier, hung from chains and ropes. Adorned with gold among other valuable metals.

At the very end was a giant statue. One of a large tall man, bearing a book in one hand and a sword in the other. Clad in a cape and armor.

"A god of wealth and power?" Venator questioned, confused at first but continued staring at the giant statue.

He sat down on one of the benches, pulling out his small book, he quickly skimmed through it. Inside were a few spells, their names and what they did, all burned into the paper.

"Power is most strong in religious places like this, just need to find a good place to summon a portal. The god must already know I'm here anyway." Venator thought to himself while looking at the writings on it.

He looked around, noticing many pillars on the sides, the large door was now shut and everyone else was walking forward. He walked behind one of the pillars, book in hand.

With one hand, he attempted to summon a portal, trying to draw the least amount of attention as possible.

Quickly stepping inside the portal, it promptly sealed behind him. He was now somewhere else, what looked to be on a cloud. In front of him was a large cathedral, one just like the other at the capital.

Before even getting near to the door, it opened. Stepping out was a figure clad in armor, one that looked elegant and filled with engravings, patterns, and symbols, the armor itself was in a black color while strips and bits of it were in gold.

"So, you wield magic, just like the pests that had sieged my people's homes months prior." A loud voice echoed, deep and filled with resentment.. The figure stood still.

"I mean you no harm, I sympathize with what you and your people must have endure-" He was cut off.

"I care not on your sympathies, the ones who wield magic have wrought destruction on my people, all fight for a kingdom that has turned its back on me, if that leak hadn't reached my world, this wouldn't have happened. And since your kind has never shown any sympathy for my people, it's about time for me to put one of your heads on a stick." The God began marching towards Venator, unsheathing a sword.

"I understand your worries, but i truly mean no harm. I come from many worlds to fight people who wield magic," The figure continued moving forward while Venator desperately tried to convince it. "I only desire to kill magic users, just like you, we both harbor hatred towards them. But I'm not one to kill innocents, only people like them and people who follow them." The figure stopped after he finished talking. The sword vanished as he stood in front of Venator.

"Perhaps on closer inspection and judgement, you do bear resemblance to a rumored hunter, a few other gods have spoke of a magic killer. One who kills those who wield magic, and all he asks in return is just a single form of power from them. But why should I believe that you would not simply use this power to turn on gods like me and the rest?" Venator smirked a little, seeing an opportunity to convince further.

"If I only desired power and only power, then I would have killed those gods when they weren't looking, even after gaining more and more from each of them, not once have I turned on my word of killing magic users." Venator explained. The figure stood still.

"Very well." An image formed out of the air, depicting a large castle. "A single user lies here, one that wields the power of the cold, forming ice in open fields, far from any mountain, armies that fought under my name have been wiped out by this single man. Kill him, and I shall see your devotion to your words, and grant you this." The figure extended out it's hand. A ball of ice formed. "Since ice is what he wields, it is ice that you shall be rewarded. Perhaps you shall see the power it possesses. That will be the deal, for I still don't trust your motives despite what I am told. Do we have a deal?" The ball of ice disappeared, leaving an armored gauntlet in it's place, extended out to Venator. He extended his own hand out, a firm grasp and a shake.

The deal has been made.

"A camp of their army resides nearby. From where you arrived in, there lies a third route, one that heads to the west. That is where you shall find the camp, and the magic user. You can see it easily, those barbarians always create massive towers of smoke that penetrate the clouds." It explained.

Venator nodded. Taking out his book, he summoned another portal out.

From the nothingness, a portal formed, now leading to the outside of the castle, next to the walls. He stepped through it, leaving the realm of the god of this world.
