The annual greetings ball
Mateo got on his motorbike and drove away
"Oh you're here." Atropa said as Mateo got into her office
"Well, did you kill him?" Atropa askes curiously
"Yes Miss." Mateo said in a submissive voice
"WHAT??"Atropa said shocked
"You actually did??" Atropa said unable to move from the sudden news
"Yes Miss he is dead i checked he is dead for sure." Mateo said insuring Atropa
"How...how did you do it?" Atropa asked confused
"Miss did i kill the wrong person?" Mateo asked looking worried
"No...no you didn't." Atropa said at a lost for words
"Good Job." She said trying to convince herself that her greatest enemy was dead
"Yes..m..." Suddenly as Mateo was replying to Atropa, Hugo burst in the office with a letter in his hand
"Miss you have been invited to the annual greetings ball." Hugo said as he shut the door
The annual greetings ball took place every year as the name says and it is the biggest ball where all the greatest mafias of all times gather and celebrate their achievements with awards and afterwards is when the actual ball takes place this is when the suitors come and ask a charming woman if they would like to dance, this was the way Atropa's mother and father fell inlove
The greatest mafia award is the biggest award of the night, this particular award was the reason Atropa and Joseph even became enemies in the first place though their parents were enemies, they never actually hated each other until this award started
They always have either Atropa or Joseph get the award but the year they became enemies, they had a tie because during the awards the mafias vote and whoever wins this vote gets the award and ever since then they have always tried to compete against each other
"Miss this time it's theme is Masquerade ball." Hugo said excitedly
"It takes place three months from now." He said now back to his neutral face
"Three months huh." Atropa said looking at Mateo
"Let's see if he's actually dead." Atropa said doubting Mateo's words while Mateo gave a slight disorganised smile.
