Why can't I be a Proper Protagonist?!

This was supposed to be a cliché story of a man who’s average in everything, aspiring to help his poor family but got into an accident and brought into another world of fantasy where he met a goddess who gave him cheats to “survive” and every beautiful girl he met falls inlove with him so he was forced to start his own harem while doing adventures around the world. Finally bringing peace and ruling over it in the end. But No, everything went to sh*t! He just graduated, got a job and one night, woke up in a world he knows nothing about, no accident, no goddess/god meeting him, no cheats, he just slept and there he was, with nothing but the clothes his wearing in his room when he went to sleep! “Whatever! I’ve always dreamt of being the protagonist in one those stories. Maybe this is it. The Goddess may just have not noticed me.. no problem, I could wait for my cheats to arrive” This is the story of a guy who naively believe he is the protagonist. Note from Author: This is a pet project of mine and I'm still new to this. So your support including you critique whether it's positive or negative(hope my weak fragile heart can take this) would be greatly appreciated. And best of all, I hope you'll enjoy my work.

Chapter 7

Seeing the sun rising.

Heaving a big sigh…

Nemitz didn't get a wink of sleep.

Remembering how he acted at Meridith last night. He felt both shitty and ashamed.

But with everything that's happened since he got here and informing him that for the mad couple he's actually just a slave adding what Jacob said to him about going to town and saying he needs to fatten up was finally the last straw that broke the camel's back.

Sighing for the hundredth time.

He's so lost on what to do that he almost wanted to just end his misery there and then.

I mean, what else could he do? He doesn't even know where to start.

He isn't reincarnated in some household. Didn't meet any God/Goddess that could give him like some starter pack like those protagonists. He literally has nothing.

Even he's starting point was f*cking messed up.

It's like some noob was given a broken controller and is forced to play dark souls in nightmare mode with no basic equipment at all.

At least that character wouldn't die if he just stood there doing nothing.

But him, doing nothing, is just waiting to die in an agonizing death.

After a few moments of deep contemplation, He finally found that wisdom his looking for to escape this nightmare.

~Welp, Nothing I can do. Is there any rope I could use to hang myself?

*creak

Hearing the sound of a door opening. Nemitz scrambled to pretend asleep. He isn't ready to face that reality yet. I guess sometimes being ignorant is truly a bliss. At least, til he's slap in the face with it.

Seeing the bumpkin still asleep. Jacob just walk pass him and went to the bathroom.

~Just 1 more day. I can't wait to sell that retard.

"Hahaha! Yeah, baby! Can't wait for that dough!"

Hearing the sc*mbag laughing early in the morning while taking a piss. Nemitz can't help but be irritated.

~I'm grateful for you saving me but now knowing your reason for doing so, that makes us even. From here on out, you can't blame me.

As morning went and it's almost noon.

"Hey is the bumpkin still asleep? He needs to eat."

Shrugging, Meridith just went over to Nemitz to wake him up. Still annoyed with what happened last night. She just kicked him awake.

Startled of getting kicked. Nemitz slowly got up. He actually fell asleep that morning. But because of lack of sleep. He's still a bit groggy.

Seeing Nemitz weak, Jacob frowned.

~What's wrong with him now?

"Hey, bumpkin, go eat. You look like a deflated d*ck."

Hearing Jacob, Nemitz can't help but remember last night, You're a Slave.

So why does he concern himself if he ate or not. What for? He doesn't order him around. And it's not like his doing any manual labor in this small house. All the chores is done by Meredith.

Shrugging, He just went to the table and started eating the broth Meridith prepared.

As the usual day almost over. Seeing Jacob asleep and Meridith just sitting near the fireplace. Nemitz can't help but walk to her.

"Hey… Before you say anything. Just wanted to say I'm sorry. Didn't know what came over me for doing that."

"Shut up and get away from me."

"Look… I just…"

"Shut. Up."

Sighing… Nemitz didn't know what to say. But for the whole day, he realizes that if he wants to survive here. Meredith's his only chance.

After all, what he desperately needed right now is information. And there's only two humans that could give it to him. And not like he has a choice. And going out there unprepared is a death sentence.

Seeing Nemitz just standing there and not moving away. Meridith can't help but frown.

"What are you still doing here rat? You had your chance last night, there's nothing for us to talked about".

About to stand up from her chair. Meridith saw Nemitz got to his knees and his head touching the floor.

"What the f*ck are you doing now!"

"Please at least hear me out. After this, I won't bother you ever again. Please, I beg you…"

It's not a first time for Meridith to see a man begging. But only if they're about to be killed. A man lowering his head, begging another person, and to her. A woman no less and only because he wanted to talk. Is a first for her.

Seeing Meridith not moving and went silent. Nemitz thought this is his chance. He can't waste it.
