Intrusive thoughts

It was a normal day for Oikawa. No really it was! He was chilling in his room, watching a sappy romance show on Netflix, one he never bothered to remember the name of, but was engrossed in anyways. He at first, chose something random, but eventually got really hooked on the mystery show. He had to know if Eline would confess her love to Robert! He would die if he never knew.

He held onto his pillow as the two finally kissed, and he almost cried at the scene. While he was holding it together, he started to think. 'I wish I could have a love like that.' His phone rang while he watched the two pull away, and they smiled. It took his brain a moment to realize the show was ending for the season, and his phone was blaring in his ears. He looked at the contact name, pausing the show. It was, of course, iwa-chan, and he happily picked up.

"Iwa-chan! What's up, you almost never call!" He said, excitedly. He heard a cough on the other side of the line. Not a sick one per say, more of an awkward clearing of the throat.

"I was wondering if you wanted to come over for dinner tomorrow night. Mom's been begging me to have you over, and she won't shut up about it." His voice sounded like he was annoyed, but Oikawa didn't really care much. Iwazumi was almost always annoyed; at least with him that is. He smiled anyways, and hummed a bit, pretending to think it over. He already knew he wasn't doing anything, but part of him enjoyed making his friend irritated. "Just answer me. It's a yes or no question." He growled out, and shivers went down Oikawa's spine. He pushed that aside, putting a pin in that.

"Of course I'll come over! Around six good?" A small sigh came from over the phone.

"Yeah, that's fine. I'll see you tomorrow then."

"Yep! Bye bye!" He said, before hanging up. He rolled over on his bed, still holding the pillow close to him. He was truly exited to go over to his friends house again, especially since he had been feeling upset about his girlfriend breaking up with him not too long ago. Sure, he was over it, but he was upset to be alone again.

'What if I was dating iwa-chan?' His brain thought. He looked terrified at the thought that just popped into his head, and sat up in an instant. "Okay, what the fuck was that?" He asked himself. He had no answer, being alone in his room. He had known he was bisexual since he was in middle school, so he's not horrified at the thought of dating another man. No, the terrifying part was it was his best friend that popped into his head.

Him and iwazumi? Not possible. They were best friends since they were kids! They grew up together, hunted bugs together, and did almost everything together! The thought of it made him pale. Why did his brain choose that to have a weird thought like that?

He sighed, and looked at the clock on his nightstand. It was getting late, and he had early morning practice the next day. He figured he should just go to sleep. But once he closed his eyes and started to drift off, thoughts of iwazumi came right back into his head. Ideas and fantasies he didn't want to enjoy, but he did anyways. Memories of them as kids, and he was a stuttering mess whenever he was around him. He remembered his heart would race when they were together, but Oikawa would always brush it off. After all, they did always run and play together. But what if it wasn't from that?

Part of him wanted to keep dreaming about it all, but he knew he had to wake up, as his alarm clock blared beside him. Groggily, he got up and did his morning routine, getting ready to face the day. Hopefully, whatever he was feeling at the moment would dissipate soon. If not, dinner might end up being really awkward for him.
