What a Dilemma

Talli Lim sat in front of her computer monitor, scrolling through her Facebook feed. It was a Friday night. She should be out with her friends at the club, dancing the night away but, she opted to stay home. Now, she was bored out her mind, thinking if she made the right decision.

At the young age of 22, Talli should be full of energy and spontaneity. Every weekend, since she was eighteen, she and her friends would hit up the hottest nightclubs. From the moment they arrived until they announce the final song, they danced the night away.

Recently, things have just gotten stale. Now, her friends just stood on the sidelines, twirling their hair and making mean comments about random girls. Is this really what it's come to?

"Ughhhh," she let out moan of frustration, "I need something to do."

She got up and walked to the kitchen. Opening and closing the cupboards, she looked for something to snack on. She walked over the the fridge and opened the freezer door.

"Hmmmm," she scanned it's contents.

Talli grabbed a couple Hot Pockets and a pint of Rocky Road ice cream. As she waited for the Hot Pockets to heat up in the microwave, she started on the ice cream. If she kept this up, she'll gain all the weight she's lost right back.

She wasn't thin and petite like most Asians, not like her friends. At 5'7", she already stood taller than all of her friends and family. Add her current size, a respectable size 10, she stood out even more. It was a vast difference from last year. But, what really stood out was her face.

Large round brown eyes accompanied by perfectly arched brows, full lips slight down turned, giving her a natural pout, and a button nose. Her dark brown hair was full of volume cascading down to her waist in natural waves. She was often mistaken for other ethnicities, or even bi-racial.

BEEP. BEEP. BEEP.

"Finally," she muttered under her breath

She grabbed everything and walked back over to her computer. As she sat down to munch, something caught her eye.

Some one requested to chat on Messenger. She clicked to view their profile. Up popped a photo of a man that took her breath away.

He had a shaved head, an intense brooding look with full luscious lips. His muscular body couldn't be hidden with the leather jacket he wore in his picture. Totally bad boy vibes. Totally her type.

"This has got to be a joke. He has to be a catfish," she thought to herself. " Should I humor him? Not like I have anything else going on right now."

Talli clicked to accept the request and his message popped up:

AJ Nguyen: Hey there beautiful. Wanna chat?

Talli Lim: Umm...hello. I guess I don't mind. I'm Talli, if you didn't already know.

AJ: Hey!! You're there!! Lucky me. I'm AJ. I thought you'd be out with your girls since it's Friday.

"Hmph." A little smirk formed on Talli's lips. She takes a bite of her Hot Pocket.

Talli: Funny. I could say the same for you. Why aren't you out with your friends tonight?

AJ: I was but I wasn't feeling it. So I left early.

Talli: Yeah I know what you mean. I think I'm over the whole clubbing and partying scene.

AJ: Same here. I think I need a break from it.

AJ: Anyways, Imma come out and say it. I saw your profie and think you're really cute. I was like 'Damn, I need to know this girl.'

Talli rolled her eyes. Here comes the pitch. She contemplated how she would reply. Should she play along? Or should she flat out call his bluff.

AJ: Hello?

AJ: Yo...you still there?

Talli reached for the ice cream and took a bite. Spoon in mouth, she started choking when another notification popped up on screen.
