In a dark gloomy cage, a young man starred out of his confinement prison as his eyes that were once full of life and vitality were now dim to the point of almost being lifeless. He was half naked and the trousers he wore looked no different than beggars clothes as he quietly sat and examined his surroundings.
In the area, he could clearly see and hear many sounds of groaning and sounds of pain coming from the other slaves that sat in their cages. A young man that was much older than himself who had been shouting earlier for his freedom had been taken out by the guards and when he came back, he no longer had his previous enthusiasm as his body was filled with injuries, whip marks and he constantly quivered.
After the guards left, the young man who was initially dim and lusterless suddenly had his eyes light up and a cold smile suffused on his face.
"That stupid second brother of mine actually set me up, well he set the former owner of this body up at least".
As he sat, he didn't dally any longer seeing that the guards had left for the night and he sat there cross-legged and closed his eyes. Core energy immediately circulated through his body as he was immersed in cultivation and his body was undergoing rapid changes.
"Hmm, looks like the former owner of this body didn't have a strong enough soul to help his cultivation progress rapidly, fortunately for me, my soul is not from this world and is extremely tenacious".
The young man speaking to himself in his heart was only a 16 years old youth that would turn 17 in the next two months or so according to the memories of the old owner. In his previous life on earth, this youth was a 23 year old Elite all rounded expert from the Jade Sect and a highly skilled gunman and weapons expert. His natural talent caused him to be highly viewed from a young age and he was taken in by a small household known as the Kenzo clan.
From a young age, he was only trained to do one thing, and that was to kill!!
At the age of 16, he was undefeatable among his peers, at 18, he became a Sect squad leader of his own private mercenary group of all rounded soldiers and directly led assassinations on numerous powerhouses.
At age 20, even the Clan that he dedicated his life to, began to feel dread whenever they saw this young man that was capable of annihilating their entire older generation of experts with his group of four. His natural talent in killing was much higher than the talent any athlete had in any sports ever played.
At the age of 22, Lucas Graymoore firmly annihilated the Kenzo clan as well as the jade sect when he was plotted against by his own family without batting an eyelid. Not only that, he directly plundered their riches and gave it to his four figures of his team to manage while he immersed himself in getting stronger.
Then he traveled around the world to take the life of the number 1 world ranked assassin in 7 moves just because he was feeling bored.
Not to mention his group of younger soldiers, just him alone caused all the various experts in their fields to feel dread and run whenever they heard that they had become his target.
It turned so bad that even the president of a country mobilized an entire 23 platoons of special forces soldiers to attack his base of operations before they managed to kill him, of course the battle ended with him killing every single one of them and dying from his injuries.
Moreover, when he finally thought he was going to take eternal rest, he was dragged by and unknown spiritual force and placed into the body of the person he was inhabiting now.
The original soul had died a few months ago when he was taken away by the guards for being too lively. As the soul dispersed, he just so happened to be taking a stroll along the universe to the afterlife when he was pulled here for a detour. After that day, waves of unceasing memories poured into his mind and he finally found out who exactly he was impersonating.
Turns out the old owner of this body was a prince of a small kingdom, or it was better to say, a royal member of a very small family. He was none other than Lucas Graymoore, son of Hathaway and Damien Graymoore and crown descendant of the Graymoore family.
"Okay let's see if I got this right. My name is Lucas Graymoore, only child of Hathaway Graymoore. My father died in battle when i was 10, or so these memories say as his corpse was never really found".
After staying in this body, all the memories of the old owner had merged with his memories of earth and he was able to come to a certain level of understanding about where he was exactly.
He was originally a crown descendant that would directly possess the throne of his family when he came off age as his father had died. But the old owner had a problem, his body and physically strength was too weak.
He was no longer on earth anymore and according to the previous hosts memories, he was on Dagen continent, one of the four realms.
This was practically a world that he would only see when he was watching ancient Chinese movies about kingdoms and dynasties and so on. In this kind of land, strength ruled over everything.
Seeing as the old host was a weakling, the elders were hesitant to place him in the leaders seat so he had expended all efforts to try and temper his weak constitution, however any method they found proved ineffective.
One day about seven months ago, one of his best friends, otherwise known as his second cousin from the same family known as Ivan Graymoore had told him that there was a special soul fruit that could allow his body to undergo massive strides in strength and temperament.
The idiot, didn't notice anything wrong about it and obviously followed Ivan under the excuse that they were going to hunt for some animals to gain experience.
Even though he wasn't the real person who was betrayed, he still felt massive anger whenever he recalled the scene of this body's owner being stabbed in the back by his own family member.
At that time, they had traveled a couple hundred miles away from their estate and were heading close to the border when they arrived near the mountain range of their Graymoore family territory.
Subsequently, Ivan, Lucas's second cousin had told him that the information he gathered said that the special plant was located inside the jungle near the medium sized mountain.
"Are you sure this is the place, I know am desperate for a cure ever since I fell ill when my father never returned from battle, but even with our guards with us, I still feel its too dangerous".
That was lucas speaking as he glanced at the seven guards that were riding on horses beside them with indifferent expressions. These were family bodyguards that had been assigned to them for their trip and they had all broken through to the soul lining grade.
Naturally, only a few people knew that they were not actually going for gain experience from hunting some regular animals.
"Don't worry brother Lucas, I got this information from a reliable source, its important that we get here first, if not we might be beaten to it by some adventurers who will soon receive the info as well. This might be your only chance to get rid of this infirmity of yours".
Ivan touched the sore spot that lucas possessed ever since his father died a few years ago. Lucas's father was the former leader and an existence at the 2nd level of the 2nd rank Grade. Apparently, there was a terrifying demon existence that was planning to ascend at the borders of the Graymoore family territory. So he carried an army of more than 5 thousand of the clans military might in order to deal with the creature.
The whole force was wiped out with only 2 thousand or less being the survivors. The beast was defeated but neither it's body, nor the body of his father were found as they vanished Into thin air. It was undoubtedly a huge loss for the Graymoore family. Lucas on the other hand fell ill the very next day.
His body constitution deteriorated greatly coming close to the extent of being weaker than a seven year old. He was only 12 then and his mother had spent a lot of the family resources in order to find a cure. But they were only a small family with a very limited territory so they naturally couldn't do much. Lucas knew that his spot as the crown descendant of the family was in danger as the higher-ups were already discussing replacing him with another candidate.
Although he would inherit the family, there were other direct descendants as well that could fill in, in case something were to happen to him. This wouldn't do at all. "OK cousin Ivan, I believe in you, let's move".
Under his command, the group advanced and headed into the forest near the mountain. Lucas however couldn't see the inkling of killing intent from Ivan's eyes as well as the grin on his face that was too slight to notice.
They headed deeper into the forest for a few hours until they just happened to come across a cave that was slightly peculiar, "Cousin Lucas, this should be the cave, we should find it inside".
Lucas immediately dismounted his horse as his eyes brightened, a guard dismounted as well and after everyone was standing on their feet, four guards led the way forward into the cave while two covered the rear, the last one was in charge of the horses. They advanced deeper and deeper and soon Lucas started to frown when he felt something was off. However at that moment, they came into a large area that was lit up by luminous stones in the ceiling of the cave and in a corner, there was a piece of paper that looked like the page of an old book laying on some kind of altar at the end of the cave.
"Is this a shrine?" That was Lucas's first thought when he and the others witnessed the scene in front of them. But after a few seconds, Lucas realized that he was somehow drawn to the page on the altar. He walked up to the altar and picked up the page from the altar.
One of the guards tried to stop him but he ordered him to stand down as he picked up the page and held it with both arms, a faint unorthodox aura was exuding out of the page and Lucas could tell that it wasn't simple.
However, his questioning expression quickly froze and turned into an expression of extreme pain as he was blasted forward of the ground and crashed directly into the cave wall. He fell to the floor and blood gushed from his Core point as well as other parts of his body as he let out a pained scream.
"Ahhhhh, you-you crippled my core point, you crippled my core point, who dares to lay a hand on this young master?"
"Young master!!!!!!".
One of the guards immediately dashed over to help lucas who was in extreme pain, and his face turned ashen as he discovered that his core point had been destroyed. His expression that was pale turned extremely unsightly when he turned around and realized that not only had a guard been the one to strike lucas, the other guards all stood on one side standing next to Ivan who currently had a devilish smile plastered on his face.
"A-A- its an ambush!" The guard who was by Lucas's side known as Zander Zhang discovered that all that was happening now had long since been planned as the other guards weren't even the slightest bit surprised and they had made their choices absolutely clear.
"You dare attack the young master, where the hell do your loyalties lie?" Zander was seething with unbridled rage while looking at these backstabbers.
However, one guard just pointed his finger at ivan. "On the side of the next family leader".
"You-You". Zander was dumbstruck and he immediately held on tightly to his sword and was about to attack.
"Enough talking, I can't have him come back with us, take him down and cripple his core point so he will lose all his accumulated power".
"You actually want to.....". Before he could complete his sentence, five out of six of the guards had already pounced in him and engaged in a bloody battle. He was on the losing side of course and even had his core point crippled as well.
"Good, Good, now that my stupid weak cousin is out of the way, what exactly was that page earlier". Ivan looked around and headed to the unconscious lucas who had picked up the page but to his surprise, he couldn't find that page anywhere in the cave. Not only was it surprising, it was slightly mysterious.
During the fight, he didn't notice that the page emitted a small black and gold aura before turning into some kind of energy that swirled into the body of lucas while he was unconscious.
"Haha this fool actually thinks am someone who cares about him, however its a pity that our family blood has restrictions that prevents us from killing our own blood relative unless it is a life and death battle agreed upon by both parties, if not, I would have killed him now instead of just crippling his core point. Well I might as well sell him as a slave so as to make some money of him, it can be considered as his good fortune".
If lucas was awake when he heard this, he would most likely be angered to the point of spitting blood. Not long after, he was sold as a slave including his faithful guard kent to a faraway slave trading company where he found himself where he currently was now.
He was transported for three months and had been in the slave prison for three months as well. It was during the second day of the second three months tenure that Lucas's body was taken over by the lucas that was there now, at least both of them had similar first names.
Inside the large room, there were about hundreds of slaves here and a guard would usually take about an hour to complete a single lap around the place. In the same cage as Lucas, sat a middle aged man whose eyes were long devoid of vitality. He was none other than Zander Zhang, the guard of Lucas under the graymoore family and his attention shifted from the guard that had just passed by to the youth that was sitting in front of him cross legged and cultivating.
He couldn't help but shake his head as a bitter smile appeared on his face. "This little brat has been like this for the past three months after he was nearly beaten to death by that guard". Zander was happy that his young master was more mature than when he just arrived in this place and nearly got himself killed for proclaiming he was someone with nobility.
"This youth has been cultivating for a long time now, however, young masters core point has been long crippled and no matter how many times I tell him, he still insists on cultivating".
"Even if he wasn't crippled, his physical condition was previously really bad to the extent that cultivating would bring him serious pain and he couldn't even break through to the mere first level of the Dawn tier grade after two years".
"Its too bad he..." However, he was currently startled as he could feel something he hadn't felt in a long time. His gaze shifted and fell on his young master who was currently indepth in cultivation. Little strands of energy were leaking out of this young masters body and his body was emitting a small golden aura that wasn't too attractive but he that was extremely close could still feel it. Some of the other dime and lifeless slaves looked over in his direction and for a moment, their lifeless eyes contained slight bewilderment.
"Don't tell me I am hallucinating, this-this can't be....." Under Zander's astonished gaze, Lucas burst out with a small aura that was hardly noticeable and he opened his eyes and a faint smile appeared at the corners of his mouth.
"This is core energy and I have achieved it, despite my core point being supposedly destroyed, I have broken through to the first level Dawn tier grade".
