Chapter 15: Is something wrong?

Still trying to process what she heard, Selena reached the highest floor and came out of the elevator. She walked slowly and steadily till she reached the door to Kelvin's office.

"Selena," Selena heard her name and turning to the direction of the voice saw it was Jorge.

"Mr Graham..., do you need something?" She said almost in a whisper. Jorge scanned her expression and he knew something was wrong.

'What did you do Kelvin?' He said in his head. He was well aware that she went out with Kelvin but now seeing her pale face he couldn't help but wonder why.

"Are you alright?" He asked her.

"Hmm...m, yes I'm alright." She stammered.

"Where's Kelvin? I thought you both left the office together?"

"Yes we did but he said he had something important to do so he left." She replied.

Jorge noticed her trembling hands, "Selena, are you really sure you're alright?" He asked concerned.

"Yes I'm alright, just a little bit tired." She said faking a smile. Though she lied it wasn't all a lie. She was a bit tired from all the thinking and feelings she has been experiencing so she could term it a half truth.

"Mr Graham, can I ask you a question?" She asked

"Yes, what is it?" Jorge looked at her carefully trying to read what was going on in her head.

"Is Ame..." She wanted to ask but stopped.

"What?" Jorge raised his brows. From Selena's first word even though she didn't complete her statement, he could already guess what she wanted to say.

"Sorry for wasting your time Mr Graham. I don't have a question to ask." She apologized with a slight bow.

"Okay I understand. You can go in, I guess you still have a lot to do before Kelvin comes back."

"Yes, thank you." She said and entered Kelvin's office.

"What did you do again this time Amelia?" Jorge whispered when Selena had already left. He knew Amelia's feelings for Kelvin because she had come to him before to let her be Kelvin's Secretary but he refused.

All she ever did since she came to this company was to stop any female staff she saw trying to get close to Kelvin. Either she uses her father's connection to get them fired or she makes their lives miserable till they quit and both him and Kelvin were aware of it.

Kelvin being the man he is never minded whatever she did rather he appreciated her because he felt it would be troublesome if he's the one firing his female staff just because they have feelings for him.

The only thing that would make him react to her actions was if she did something that would affect his company and since she never crossed that line, he didn't bother stopping her.

'I hope you really don't do something to hurt her if not I doubt Kelvin will stay mute.' Jorge shook his head and entered his office.

Selena sat on the office sofa. She felt her head ache and her stomach throbbing in pain but why. Why was she feeling pain or was it fear that led to the pain. She knew she had to finish studying the file if she wanted to give Kelvin a feedback but she just couldn't.

She tried standing up but her legs failed her as she was seriously weak. She couldn't even gather up any strength to move her hand and with that numbness she drifted to sleep.

Inside a small cottage dimly lit with a single candle, a man lay on the unforgiving ground, covered in his blood. His life seemed to hang by a thin thread of consciousness as he tried uttering a word.

Fear gripped Selena as she stood frozen on the ground. Who is this? What happened to him? She asked herself and tried moving her feet but she still couldn't.

Turning around to face her, Selena's eyes widened in shock as she recognized the face, It was Kelvin. Even though his face wasn't bright, she could still trace out the image.

Tears flowed from her eyes as she saw him struggling for his life. "No, it can't be. It can't be him." She kept on shaking her head in disapproval till she heard his voice.

"Selena.." It was almost in a whisper. His voice carried pain, sadness and regret but yet on his face there was a bitter smile. Trying to raise his hands, to reach out to her, Selena felt weak and fell to her knees.

Her heart throbbing in pain as she saw Kelvin's figure. 'Why? Why him?' Still in her thoughts she heard her name and she woke up.

Selena woke up and looked round. Where was she? What just happened? It was all a dream but why was she having it. Hearing her name again she looked towards Kelvin's desk and saw him seating down there.

He was looking at her with creased brows, his face was soaked in concern and she wondered why.

"Selena," He said standing up and walking towards her. "Is something wrong?"

Selena used her eyes to scan his body and sighed in relief. "Thank God it was all of dream."

"Dream? What kind of dream?" Kelvin asked and sat down beside her and she shifted a bit from him. He was surprised by her actions as he looked at her eyes carefully while trying to find out what was going on in her head but the only thing her eyes gave out were fear.

'Was she afraid of him?' Of course she would be afraid of him, everyone is but why did he even care. Why did he feel a bit disturbed when she shifted back. 'What is going on with me?' Kelvin asked in his head.

"Nothing..., it's not important." She said and immediately changed the topic. "How long have you been here?"

Still looking at her, he decided to let it slide. If she wasn't going to say anything then why should he bother himself. 'It's a good thing she fears me atleast she'll be easy to control.' He said to himself but on a real note he felt a tinge of anger when he saw the fear in her eyes.

"Are you done with what I gave you?" He ignored her question.

"Oh shit! I totally forgot. I'm so sorry, I was very tired. I can still work on it now." She said and immediately straightened up herself on the sofa.

"Do you even know what says the time now?" She heard him and looked at the wall clock and her eyes widened.

"Did I really sleep that long?" She asked no one in particular. "And no one woke me up. I'm really sorry, I didn't..." she added but he cut her off.

"I told no one to wake you up." Kelvin bluntly said.

"Sir?" She received a hard glare from him and gulped. "I'm sorry, Kelvin." She quickly corrected herself.

Kelvin stood up, "Take care of the things in the office. I'll be waiting for you in my car." He said and left.
