2 Drifted to the past

Ying Xuan had been a little sickly ever since she was born. The doctors said that it was due to the fact that she had not gotten enough nutrients in the womb. Probably due to the fact that she and her sister had shared the womb.

When Ying Xuan was about three, she had fell down some stairs and hit her head. This had resulted in some psychological damage to her nerves which had rendered her unable to speak. Ying Xuan had always been a quiet child, her sister, Ying Xi was the talkative one. Ying Xuan was exceptionally good at drawing and she spent most of her time in her room as she grew up. Because she was not a very sociable child and preferred to stay in her room.

Her father had tried to find some cure for her nerves for one or two years, but had soon given up. Everyone in the house could clearly see that Mr. Ying favoured his elder daughter a lot more. He would give in to all her whims and had spoil her to the point that Ying Xi could not bear hearing no for anything. Though her mother did not seem to choose favourites between her two daughters, she was rarely home. Mrs. Ying was usually traveling abroad, shooting for a film or drama, chasing her dreams. She had always taught her daughters to chase their dreams and never let anything bring them down.

Ying Xuan had always wanted to go to Belgardam college of arts to study fashion designing and painting, her two passions. And that was where the two sisters were headed.

Ying Xi, on the other hand, did not have much thoughts about the future. She had all the money in the world and only wanted to enjoy life. She had only cooperated with Xuan to convince her dad to send them to college as he would never let her go to all the parties she wanted to go and all the things she wanted to do otherwise. Ying Xi was actually very good at acting, seemed to have gotten this from her mother. It was with this talent that she had managed to maintain her pure and innocent image in front of her father, pushing the blame on Ying Xuan for all the things that their parents found out.

Ying Xuan, who her father did not like very much, had soon given up trying to explain herself as not one of her family members had taken the pain to learn sign language, and she could not make Mr. Ying understand what had actually happened with Ying Xi shouting her version of the story with tears in her eyes. This was one of the reasons Mr. Ying had been reluctant to send his daughters to another city. He did not have complete faith in Ying Xuan and believed that her bad habits would rub off on Ying Xi. But faced with Ying Xi's master acting skills, he had finally agreed.

"Hey, Xuan. Are you listening? Xuan??? Helloooo???" Ying Xuan was pulled back from her thoughts by Ying Xi's voice.
