Chapter 8 : Death Alpha Wolf

Noah continued to watch the battle, and to study the progress of the magical beasts. He was able to know that the elves were holding the front lines, and the beginning of the battle, and was able to focus on other points.

For ordinary villagers, he was surprised at the fighting effectiveness of the elves. Maybe it was in their genes, but it didn't matter. The Red Wolf who was in the back, mattered to him enormously.

As a Spirit Tree, he did not have the opportunity to appear in the battlefield, and intervene in the fight, he waited in the rear, and warned of any danger, too high for the elves. And it was perhaps the best choice he could have made.

The Red Wolf who was staying away from the fighting, had not yet seen him, and did not suspect that he was looking at him. He was rather focused on the elves, and laughed strangely as if he thought it was futile resistance, his expression judging the elves, and describing absolute trust.

The number of Magic Wolfs that would die at the hands of elves increased, but the Red Wolf didn't matter. He expected to crush any elf, but was a little fearful of outside beings who could annoy him, and change the favor of the battle. It was for this reason that he stood aside, checking the enemy's movements.

Obviously, with such confidence he would have advanced to the front line, but has always been cautious, which has earned him to live until today. His instincts warned him of danger, but he couldn't find anyone around him at his level. The elves may have been strong, but not strong enough to threaten him.

Most elves had counted several magic wolves to their credits, and continued to fight. Some even managed on the battlefield, and fought several wolves at once. Especially an elf who held two spears, and counted a dozen wolves on his counter.

Yet, counting the magic wolves that died, their numbers were always higher, and every moment that lasted was an extra pressure that led elves to retreat, or die in the battlefield.

Despite the higher murder numbers in the elves' camp, it wasn't significant enough. Noah began to doubt the advance, and the victory of the elves.

The elves were getting tired, and even the one who seemed to be the strongest of the elves seemed to slow down in his movements, making prolonged fighting even more tense and difficult.

Perhaps at that time, he should have come down, and intervened in the battle to intervene, and reduce the burden of the elves, by killing many magic wolves, but part of his consciousness stung him.

He wanted to keep watching the fighting, and stay away from the battles, letting the land soak in blood, corpses as far as the eye could see, and wounded amputated for life. The presence of the Red Wolf piqued his curiosity, but also sensed danger. Maybe intervening too early, and confronting the red wolf head-on, was too dangerous for him, so he didn't show up.

Rather than feeling disgusted with himself, or regretting his selfish action, Noah felt a sacrifice necessary for victory.

As the number of magic wolves decreased significantly, the red wolf that was stationed in the rear stepped forward, and leapt towards the fortification that would protect the elves. The elves who had seen a strangely fast wolf, could not react in time, and what happened, happened.

As expected, the foundations did not hold the shock of the Red Wolf charge, and the walls broke into a thousand pieces, followed by many elves who were near the walls, ejecting several meters full force, falling to the ground, lifeless.

The elves were surprised, and were slaughtered as expected. The magic wolves followed their leaders, and began to re-enter through the breach. The battle that was turning in favor of the elves, turned, and the wolves regained the advantage. The fighters were attacked from behind, and the mages who supported the elves at the front, were hit.

At the beginning of the battle, about eight hundred elves were participating in the battle, while a hundred had retreated to the rear, but at that time there must have been about six hundred elves alive, including the villagers in the rear. The situation had turned to the worst.

It was a large enough number to think that this was the end of their journeys. But some resisted anyway, to preserve the innocent in the back so that they escaped in time, but it was useless.

Even if they fled, the beasts would catch up with them and kill them.

Unfortunately, the Alpha Wolf turned around, and advanced towards Christine who collapsed on the ground. Everyone thought that the Elder was going to die, but no one expected her intervention.

Noah, who had found the right moment to fight back, intervened. [Vine stroke] x4.

As the Alpha Wolf was about to devour Christine, vines came out of the ground, and began to swing towards the Wolf, impaling his limbs, and puncturing his organs.

The Alpha Wolf who tried to dodge, could not react, and left a short growl on impact. "Gr... »

Noah had swayed four vines, impaling each of the limbs, but the alpha wolf was still alive. Can magical beasts live despite excessive blood loss? He was curious, and confused by the situation. Should he send more vines?

Noah felt in danger of death, and attempting to attack, when a strange light emerged from the beast's body. [Coup de Vigne] x10.

Unfortunately, the light blocked his vines, and he had to retreat. How could he continue to fight, and resist, while his body was impaled, in several places? Noah didn't understand.

Quickly, the light grew louder, and the light became intimidating. Noah quickly retrieved the elves near him, and held them in his vineyards, trying to protect them.

A shockwave went through the battle, and reverberated to his physical body. Just when he thought it was over, an explosion appeared at the spot where the red furry wolf was, shrouding the battlefield in a kind of dust fog.

Noah was worried, and was checking the surroundings, looking for the magic beast. He found two small lights flashing in the cloud of dust, and felt chills on all his leaves. His gaze was directed to his own main body.

Noah, who had felt threatened, returned to the original place, and prepared to fight. It must be understood that the beast grew, reaching a size of 10 meters in height, standing at a height of one-sixth of its body.

He had sensed that the magic beast had evolved, and held an extraordinary power, more powerful than at the beginning. He knew he had to confront him, and put the elves in the back, as he prepared to fight.

With a rough estimate, it was certain that it was much stronger by far, even surpassing it. The only choice available to him was to kill him with offensive attacks until he died.

While he was thinking of a way to kill him effectively, the Alpha Wolf leapt at a high speed, leaving dust behind, and in a few seconds approached his main body.

At the same time, Noah sensed a disturbing hunch, and swinging vines. [Coup de Vigne] x4. The alpha wolf was rejected by its vines, and leapt several meters, throwing it at a speed equal to its leap from the original point of impact.

Quickly, he embedded himself in the trees, and buried himself in mud, injured in some places of the body because of the impact. A growl of pain echoed in the ground, where he was.

Seeing an opportunity to kill him, Noah swung all the vines he could, and began whipping the cloud of dust rising from the ground, for entire minutes, before stopping. [Coup de Vigne] x30.

However, the alpha wolf stood up, and pounced on her original body, before disappearing from her sight. At the same time, he felt a chill in the back of his body, and swinging vines. [Coup de Vigne] x5.

A few seconds later, an impact was felt at the back of his body. The impact was so powerful that he had to stop for a few seconds because of the violence of the shock. Noah began to sweat, and grew tired of the prolonged fight. "Damn it."

The alpha wolf stood up, and began to pounce on several trees, forming a spider web around her body, using the trees as springboards to project herself, and find an opportunity to hit him.

Noah began to think in earnest, and to monitor the surroundings, preventing each attack from hitting weak points. After a few rounds, he started to get tired, and felt blurred.

His mana stash was running out as he used offensive attacks, and he was sure to lose if the fight continued this way, no one had managed to gain the upper hand, and his body had begun to gather various skins and wounds here and there. If this continued, he would definitely lose.

On the other side, the elves defended themselves very poorly, the wolves had surrounded them, and many elves were wounded, and could not fight, leaving some elves to die in the mouths of beasts.

He tried to intervene, and help, but couldn't because of the alpha wolf who was just jumping, showing no fatigue. Noah clicked his tongue, and began whipping the surroundings to raise the dust, and show an opportunity.

The alpha wolf jumped at the opportunity, and fell into the trap. He scratched his trunk deeply, but Noah managed to launch deadly attacks all over his body. He threw out his last reserves of mana, and hoped to kill him. [Coup de Vigne] x30.

The alpha wolf struggled violently, but his resistance drove him even deeper into his vines. Soon, the alpha wolf died, and the magic wolves retreated, when they saw their leaders fallen to the ground, lifeless.

The elves were able to blow a blow, and were able to smile, celebrating their victories, to live another day.

Noah felt pain, but consumed by force. "It's over... He was able to hear a few voices, and was able to breathe.

Mary walked out of the crowd, and hugged Christine. "Grandma, we survived the monsters!"

An elf claimed victory. "The monsters fled, the Spirit Tree defeated the Alpha Wolf!"

The elves came to their senses, and looked at the towering Spirit Tree that stood high, and proud in the forest. He looked at the Spirit Tree as a divine being, who had saved them. "'Hooray for the Spirit Tree!' "Hooray for the Spirit Tree!" »

The elves rose from the silence, and began to celebrate together, hugging each other, and kissing. Some were sad that loved ones had died, but still continued to celebrate with others.

While they were celebrating happily in the back, Noah spotted a strange gem coming out of the Alpha Wolf's lifeless corpse. She seemed to shine, as if she wanted to show herself to him.

Just when he thought he was retrieving the corpse gem, the elves approached. What did the elves want now?

When the elves approached his body, they felt pressure compressing them to the ground, but chose to submit, and knelt before him. The elves were proud species, but felt a strange sensation in their chests.

This was not disturbing, but rather reassuring. Noah, unaware of their thoughts, spoke. "How many elves have died, and been wounded?"

Christine feels suffocated, and responsible to her dead. "Most have become permanently disabled, but are still alive. The wounded have been moved and cared for for the moment thanks to the presence of the mages-caregivers, and the dead will be buried properly. She said, catching her breath, "... And the death toll was two hundred and thirty-four men. She sighed.

Noah sympathized greatly with the Eldest, and allowed the elves to reap fruits to help the wounded recover quickly. Christine was the mother, and sister of many elves she had saved, it was normal to feel sad.

But it was a good thing now, the elves would now return to their old ways, and bury the dead in the past. "We should now build a new city, for your migration," he said.
