William Jackson has magic poisoning? Are you serious?!? Magic poisoning is a condition in which your body has too much MP, and cannot properly handle the power in which it contains.
If the MP starts getting out of control, the person will suffer from severe headaches and fevers, followed by more serious side effects such as anaphylactic shock.
Taking a simple MP suppressant every day, for the most part, can elevate the symptoms, however the person who has magic poisoning will go their whole life on the MP suppressant, and constantly being monitored by doctors.
If someone actually dies from magic poisoning, one of two things happen. One, the magic dissipates into the air and nothing happens, however in severe cases there have been reports of the MP inside the persons body going crazy, and creating a powerful explosion, strong enough to blow up an entire square kilometer.
There is currently no cure for magic poisoning, you can only treat the side effects and hope the person suffering from the condition can lead a normal life, however in theory if you used Time magic to speed up the speed in which your body uses MP to sustain it's bodily functions, you could theoretically cure magic poisoning.
However, thinking about the side effects of curing magic poisoning like that is ridiculous. Whatever speed you increase your 'MP metabolism', as I'll call it, it could cause an increase in the aging process as well. Also, there are unknown side effects to using Time magic in this way, after all there's no research for it, so he's working entirely in the dark.
But what can I do? Well before I think about that, I've gotta give this to William. I don't want to keep him from getting his medicine, do I?
I send him a message over Havoc, a messaging program commonly used for talking to friends, or game chat in video games, and told him to meet me after next period.
The rest of the next period was kinda boring. Nothing interesting happened, and I think everyone in that class is afraid of me. They were avoiding me for some reason. Oh well, I meet William after class in the commons area.
I give him the doctors note, and start to walk off when he says, "You read the note, didn't you?"
"Yeah..."
"Please don't tell anyone about it, okay? I don't want them freaking out that I'm practically a ticking time bomb."
"I'm not gonna tell anyone, and you aren't a time bomb! You are a person!" I yell at him, furious. "Don't talk like that, okay? You'll be fine as long as you take your medicine, it isn't that serious."
"Yeah, I guess your right..."
Hey! I didn't stutter, but it took a serious conversation like that to pull it off. Hey, but a step forward is a step forward, no matter it's size. Now if only I could talk to people other than those I know. Wait, now's NOT the time to be celebrating this!
"Anyway, you better get on tonight, I'll be waiting okay?" I'm not taking no for an answer.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be on."
"Good, then let's go to our classes."
When I finally get home, I log onto my computer and get on Havoc to see if William is online yet. It says that he is still offline so I go downstairs to get a snack.
*BOOM*
What was that? I run upstairs to my brother's room where I heard the explosion went off worried about his safety to see... pfft. He definitely messed up a spell.
"Hey, don't laugh!"
"I'm sorry, but, pfft, nice hair." I try so hard not to fall on the floor laughing while his hair is styled as a bright pink afro.
"Look, I was trying to learn a spell to change the color of an object, and this happened!"
"That's because that isn't a spell to change colors, it's to change properties, you have to specify the criteria first!" Come on, you've made it this far, don't laugh, don't laugh, don't lau-
I start breaking out laughing, even the punches to the side by my brother cannot stop me.
"Y'know, I might be able to fix this. Here give me the magic circuit diagram." He hands a piece of parchment over to me and I start casting a magic. In a second, his hair is back to the style and color it was before, blond with slight curls. Although, I did throw in a little something extra... let's see how long it takes him to notice.
I get to my computer, finally, and William still isn't on, what's taking him so long? I suddenly hear an ambulance outside and decide to take a look.
"Doesn't that person look a lot like-" WILLIAM! What the heck he lived that close! Wait, no, that's not the problem, is he okay?!?
I teleport outside and rush over to the ambulance to see what's happening.
"William! Are you okay?!?"
One of the people who were helping him comes up and tells me, "Young lady, the boy is being taken to the hospital right now, he can't talk."
"But he's my friend, I've got to know if he's okay!"
"Calm down. He'll be fine, his magic poisoning is just getting to him, he'll be fine in a couple days."
"But I thought people with magic poisoning could live normal lives under MP suppressants?"
"Under most cases yes, but his amount of MP is incredible, and to top it off, he's a Sapient, his body just can't handle the toll that the MP puts on him."
From the moment the world changed, I've been able to solve all my problems with Gravity magic, but this incident showed me how naïve I was being. Not everything can be solved with brute force. I can't help William like this.
William, why didn't you tell me this. I thought everything would be fine...
Ooh, a cliff hanger, IDK if I'll be able to upload the next couple days, got school stuff going on. In fact, Saturday uploads might be a challenge. But I will try to get another chapter out. We'll see.
