She Wouldn't Betray Us Right?

Aaron got on the bike with the chemist intern, and she drove away. As the wind blew past his body, he felt his limbs become numb, so he clung tightly to her. "Are you okay?" she asked, and he simply shook his head in denial and leaned his head on her back.

"Hey, you can't be that close to me," she said, flustered, and her face had turned completely red when he got this close to her.

"Please drive faster," Aaron pleaded before he closed his eyes.

Soon, the lady parked the car in front of a warehouse and helped Aaron down the bike. "You look pale," she said, and he nodded and took his oxygen box from her.

"Which place is this?"

"My lab," the lady chuckled. She was a brunette and was eighteen years old.

"Julian," she extended her hand for a handshake, and Aaron stared at her; he was lost in thought.

"Umm, we didn't get to introduce ourselves earlier because you were in a haste. So, can I know your name now?"

"Aaron," he said, then looked around.

"Can I get a place to rest for a while before I join my friends?"

Julian nodded, and they both walked into the small warehouse. There was a table at the center with some chemical equipment, and there was an old couch by the side.

So Julian placed some clean sheets on the couch before Aaron sat on it; his head was hurting a lot, and he felt cold.

"I will get you a blanket," she said once she noticed that he was shivering.

Once she was back, she noticed that he had fallen asleep. So she simply covered him with the blanket and returned to studying her formulas.

Tyler and Lara had arrived at the mosque ever since, but there was no trace of Aaron, and this got them worried.

"Should I go back to check on him?" She asked Tyler, who was all wrapped up in the corner of the empty mosque. "He will be back," he assured her, and she walked close to him.

"Has this ever happened?"

"What?" he asked.

"You both go on a mission, and just one of you returns while patiently waiting for the other?"

"No"

"Aaron always let me sit somewhere safely and give him directions while he took the risky jobs, and he always came out unharmed. Probably because he worked alone," explained Tyler.

"No, he didn't work alone. Without your guidance, he probably wouldn't succeed; even at the bank, it was all you."

Tyler chuckled. "Are you trying to be modest?"

"Okay, fine, Aaron was the mastermind behind it, and the way he came up with such a plan in such a short period... like," she said. She had known him for a short time and could tell he was the smartest person she ever came across.

"Hmm," Tyler closed his eyes slowly. "Hey." Lara suddenly got worried. "It's just a nap," he said with closed eyes, and she sighed in relief.

"Okay"

Then she stared at the bag she had taken from the mail house, then tore it open, and found the watch in it. "Smarty ass," she chuckled.

And then she got worried: "Will the organization let him go without the watch?"

Thoughts started running through her head. "If he isn't back in two hours, then I will have to go back there to save him," she thought.

After several hours, Aaron woke up while coughing. Even Julian coughed hard, as the formula she was mixing had an adverse reaction.

"Sorry, I woke you up," she choked before pushing the door open to let some air in.

Aaron still felt weak. He stood up and walked to her small lab. He still found it hard to breathe and kept coughing.

"What is that?" He stared at the mixture she had made.

"I was mixing compounds with ammonia; I thought this was hydrogen peroxide, so I mixed it, and it gave off this choking smell," she explained, and Aaron held the mixture she referred to as 'hydrogen peroxide'.

"This is bleach, and we thank God you didn't mix hydrogen peroxide and ammonia; do you even know what you are doing?" He scoffed and dropped it before he looked outside; it was already very dark, and his friends must be worried.

"Hey, I know what I am doing. I know ammonia and hydrogen peroxide produce something dangerous," she pouted.

"So you planned to kill us?" He raised a brow and walked to the door, then stared at the mixture she had made.

Ammonia and bleach—he loved the mixture. "I could use it on one of my missions."

"Hey Julian, thanks a lot for the help."

She smiled at him. "You are welcome; maybe we will meet again one day."

"And I will make sure to repay that favor," he said, then left.

"So handsome. Why did he have to leave now?" She pouted and sat on her couch, then she spotted a stack of money.

"What? Did he leave this?" She picked up the money to go after him, but it was dark, and she couldn't spot him.

Tyler slowly opened his eyes and looked around. "Lara," he called because he was hungry and thirsty, but there was no response.

"Lara," he called again. This got him worried, and he stood up before looking around, but he couldn't spot her.

"Tyler" Aaron stood at the door, and Tyler ran to him and hugged him tightly. "I have never been happier to see you."

"Hey…" Aaron jogged him before he showed the oxygen mask to him. "The money is still in; let's go to Boston tonight before Lincoln and Martin come for us."

"Good idea." Though they were injured, they had to find a way to escape from this city.

"Where is Lara?"

"She probably went out to get some food." Tyler assumed she must have been hungry as well. "That's risky; I will go find her." Aaron was about to leave when his gaze stopped at the package he had asked them to get from the mail office.

It was torn. "Where is the watch?" He asked in disbelief, and Tyler's eyes widened in shock. "Do you think Lara took it?"

"She can't betray us, right?" Tyler didn't know what to think. Aaron clenched his fist angrily. "Is she that greedy?"
