Chapter 1 - Rewind

Since the very beginning of her memory, Elise has never seen her parents once; she was taken in by an orphanage in South Korea from birth. No one knew who her parents were or if they are even still alive.

Being nurtured under the care of the orphanage, she managed to grow up healthily, but she quickly met her end in a car accident at age 15...well at least it should've been the end.

Transmitting to a murim world like those from the novels, she began her journey as a disciple of a martial clan. There she was taught how to cultivate and many martial techniques exclusive to the clan.

However, it didn't last long until conflicts with other clans began to arise and war was declared, killing Elise in the process. And instead of reincarnating in a different world again, she time travelled back to the start where she came to the murim world with her knowledge and cultivations still intact.

Vowing to get revenge, she followed the same path and eventually won the war with her growing strength that managed to grant her a high position among her clan. However, because of her growing strength many found themselves to be jealous of her talent, especially the clan leader who feared that she was a risk; therefore she is a spark that must be extinguished.

However, as fate would have it, Elise time travelled back again and this time she murdered the clan leader. Thinking that it would be the end of her trouble, she was once again killed by those she believed to be trustworthy.

Being betrayed again after again, she eventually dominated the whole of murim and became the apex!

Elise suddenly opened her eyes to a white blur, to what seemed to be the ceiling.

"Doctor! The patient has awakened!" The young nurse shouted, rushing out of the room.

Seconds later, the nurse came back alongside a middle-aged doctor who had a sign of doubt on his face, "How can she be awake so quick? She is meant to be still in a critical condition."

'Who are they? Critical condition? Wait… Isn't this korean?' Elise quickly springs up from her lying position, causing the doctor and the nurse to freak out.

"Whoa! Please take it slow, you have only just awakened! Please lay back down the bed." The doctor exclaimed, but Elise didn't follow the instruction and just stared towards the two with a blank expression. It was as if she couldn't process the information being feeded to her brain.

"Patient...Elise, are you feeling any dizziness or nausea?" The doctor asked.

After a couple seconds of awkward silence had passed, just as the doctor thought he wasn't going to receive any answer again, Elise suddenly shook her head.

The doctor came closer with a small torch and shined it in Elise's eyes, and her pupils just followed wherever the light moved.

"Are you able to speak?" The doctor asked, turning off his torch.

It took a while, but sounds eventually formulated from her mouth, "Y-Yes."

It was mic and somewhat unclear but the two were able to still easily understand what she said.

'Just when was the last time had I spoken in Korean?' Elise mused, then statteringly asked, "Um… E-Excuse me, bot what is the date todey?"

"Today is 14th June 2020. You were admitted to this hospital just 5 days ago, do you not remember the incident?" The doctor asked, while appearing to scan her body for what was supposed to be full of wounds, but somehow none of such was to be found. Not even a single scratch.

Elise once again shook her head in response to the doctor's question. 'Incident?... Right, I was caught in a car crash, but only 5 days have passed?'

Somehow Elise's memory about the incident was unclear, in fact her memory of South Korea was unclear; she could have sworn that she was still in another world just minutes ago.

"Well it seems that your external injuries have all been healed, but we should still take an x-ray and brain scan just to be sure; don't go too hard in your memory, it's common for patients to forget about the moment of their incident." The doctor explained then asked if she needed anything before leaving the room with the nurse.

"D-Did I really came back to Korea?... Or was I always here and that everything was just a dream?" Elise quietly asked herself in a language than none of the people passing by her room would have understood.
