There was a flash of hurt in his eyes but quickly covered up. When they all started to get up and move around Scarlet tried to look for an opening to escape. "It would be good if I could get away when I kick them out to change my cotton strip. It would be good, but I can't get the baby back without alerting the others. They would sense that." Scarlet thought to herself.

Her stomach made One of the loudest growls she had ever herd and broke her train of thought. Alex just laughed and said "I already have food prepared and just need to finish cooking it. It will be ready soon. The Villagers just got packed up and left a little while ago. They asked us to tell you thank you and wish you all the best." With that he just went back to cooking like everything was normal.

The more that Scarlet thought about ways to leave the more she realized that she didn't want to. She was tired of being alone and having to do everything on her own and not having that since of comfort that had been stolen away so long ago. As she sat there thinking about this, she suddenly felt a Huge Warm Body engulf her. Travis said, "Please don't cry, tell me whatever it is, and I will do my best to make it better but please don't cry."

Scarlet had no idea what he was talking about, so she reached her hand up and touched her cheek and was surprised when she had touched it her fingertips became wet. It was true, She was crying. This was so strange, it had been so long since she last cried, and it was because she didn't want to be alone. She had been alone for so long and No One was Safe to be around. Now in this New World there was no Evil Woman looking to end her life. There was just these Male that wanted to help her and treated her well without wanting anything in return but to stay by her side.

Old Habits were hard to change though. It didn't matter what they want Males here will betray their Females here just like anyone else would. Being alone was safer, it always was and always will be.

After making up her mind she dried her face and pushed him away saying "I'm fine at this time I can become a little emotional. It's nothing I'll be fine."

Travis let go but grabbed her hand that was on his chest and said, "Whatever it is I hope that One day you can trust in me and know that I will always be here and will never betray you."

Heat flooded her face and she blushed so hard that she felt like she had another fever. She took her hand back and said "It's really nothing. I cried when a leaf fell One time. It's just something that happens."

Travis of course didn't believe her but had no choice but to let it drop. He couldn't explain it, but he just knew how she felt. He could feel her all the time, and the more time that he spent with her the stronger it was. There was a connection between us, and she could deny it all she wanted, but I would not let her be alone.

Being lost in thought he didn't realize that the Pup had crawled into his lap and was trying to get his attention. Alex said, "Hey Tiger get up she wants us out." It was this that brought him back to reality and he looked down grabbed the Pup and started to walk out. He had a feeling that he needed to keep the Pup with him, because she was going to run but not without him. He wanted to let the other know what he was thinking but he didn't get the chance they were being called back in.

After they reentered the cave, the food was done, and they all sat down in silence. Scarlet was eating and thinking of ways to escape when Doctor Sebastian broke the silence saying "I know that you have had a hard life in the past. You said before that you are from another land that has a different way of doing things. Those people are not here. You have made a name for yourself here as a 'Great Spirit' the people here are either scared of you or worship you. You have no Equal here and even when you are not at your best you can still take care of things effortlessly. We here would rather die than harm you. I'm sorry about what happened to you in the past and I know that you have issues with trust. Just think about it Please. We Love and care about you I don't care if you pick One of them or all of us but Please pick. It breaks my heart to see you being alone."

Alex and Travis both said that they agreed with what he said and just waited there for an answer from her. Scarlet thought about what he said and decided to use this as a chance to Cut Ties with them. She said "The Female that Marked me for death has followed me to every land that I have been to. She has somehow turned everyone against me. No matter where I go or who I have talked to in the last Ten years she has been able to get on her side. It is not the first time that I have heard those words before, and I can tell you that it will not be the last. I will be leaving with my Pup after we finish eating and I will not be alone because I have him."

With that she continued eating quietly and the rest could not think of anything else to say to try to convince her, so they just continued to eat. Alex thought of something and said, "What if we kill her?"

Scarlet chuckled and said, "I tried to on more than One occasion and if I can't get to her what makes you think you can?"

She took her last bite of food and all the Males watched as she chewed and swallowed. Looking at her Pup who was in no hurry to finish his food she patted his head and walked outside to plan her next move. When she was out of the cave, she felt a great weight on her shoulders that she had long grown used to carrying. Not noticing that it was gone until it was back.

She sat with her feet in the water and thought about the conversation earlier. It was true that the Evil Woman that had marked her for death had followed her all over the world; but it was not this world. There was no way that she would be able to find her here, and on top of that there would be no reason to even look for her because the Woman believed that she was already dead.
