Watching others

Moving about the room I gathered the two knives to my side by just using the materials to recreate them at my sides under my belt. Reaching my hand out the herbs that I had cut turned to powder before wind magic swirled the powder inside of small containers.

Magic was the best enforcer of someone's lazy attitude especially since it just needed strong visualization of something and the knowledge of how to manipulate the elements to get what you need. With the mana swirling around me I enclose the circle of air and start playing music around me, two scalpels flicked to my hands as I started cutting up the various plans I could get my hands on.

Time was against me since I needed to not only show a recovery, but a miracle that would make those rumors that I'm blessed by a god explode forth. There had been several stories from the other world that had one rule written deeply in each of them, never mess with an alchemist!

Creation magic, wind magic and knives flowed through the air following the beat and tempo of the music around him. Anyone watching this chaotic scene would be nervous as it looked like random chemicals and plants were mixing in the air without any care in the world. The orchestrator of the mess was waving his hands around like a stringed concert was following his every move. The sounds of famous violinists were mixed with a series of dubstep that was popular before I died the first time, wordless songs were the best to keep my concentration.

My mind slowly felt weary and I knew my mana was almost all the way exhausted from doing hundreds of minute things over several minutes I tidied up everything else so that the place was filled with jars that only had their own materials or mixtures to be basic ingredients for a pill or potion.

Looking over what he did have he could create about five different types of healing balms, potions, and pills, one type of enhancement pill, and thirty three types of poisons. The sheer amount of poisons that he had access to without using his status staggered him though many of the poisons were just enhancements of their own formulas it didn't seem that hard to poison him should someone want to. Though many poisons here were made by mixing things that were harmless and no one currently knew what to use them for.

Who needed a plant that increased blood circulation or one that made you have minor itches? What if the itchiness could be amplified and spread through the whole body until the victim tore apart their own skin?

The poisons that I had access to actually made finding my murderer harder than before since it might just be someone who stumbled upon a mixture of useless herbs that were commonly kept for alchemists to experiment with.

Looking for the killer through access to poisons would be a useless endeavor I had to get them to strike again.

The one enhancement pill had only minor effects so I could use that one like candy, slowly building up from a small effect to one that benefitted the whole body like green tea. Green tea would barely affect a person if you drank one cup, but if you drank it over years you'll show many benefits over that time.

Even with the increase of strength from the poison running through my body I knew I was still behind the other people my age. With my proficiency in weapons, and the creation magic at my disposal I would more than likely be able to take care of anyone that would seek me out from my generation though, but arrogance has been the killer of many people.

My hands dabbled with my tools making mild poisons to disable someone along with making a filter mask with some of my spare clothes. Inhalation poisons were the easiest to create since they just required them to be in powdered form and I made several paper bags to hold those poisons on my person. With the use of wind magic I should be able to direct the poisons at the person I was fighting as well.

Grabbing my karambits I made my way out of my room, there was a few places I needed to go to actually see what the fighting strength of my generation was. I also needed to know what the fighting styles of people were when enhanced by magic as my gaming knowledge could only go so far if the rules weren't the same.

Making my way through the hallways I lead myself to a training area that many people liked to use as a sparing ring to view some of the people around my age group.

The area was rather bare with three sparring rings and stands covered the room circling the three rings. The ground around the ring was set up with an extensive array that would cushion blows to the point where they wouldn't break bones as long as it was under a certain degree of power which in spars between the younger generation that nearly never happened.

Two kids were sparing in one of the rings currently a muscular kid that was already over six feet in height wearing a flame red uniform with a black head tie keeping his hair in a ponytail. Fire flew with each of his punches to cut off the escape routes as the smaller fighter ducked and weaved through the punches trying to create distance unsuccessfully.

The smaller kid's footwork was interesting as sand moved and coiled around his feet sliding them into various positions like he was skating across the ground. He hadn't made an attack yet but his eyes were sharp and the gaps between his dodges and the attacks were getting smaller. He seemed to be stalling for time as he tried to move away from the other fighter.

A few of the onlookers from the stands were cheering and taking bets on the fight, but an experienced eye could tell that the smaller kid wasn't taking the fight seriously at all. His posture and his arms were too relaxed, he wasn't ready to make a strike at all seeming to want to prolong the fight.

"He's practicing his dodging skills?" I whispered under my breath. It seemed to be a waste as he could easily defeat the other fighter, the best way to get stronger was to fight against someone a little bit stronger than you.

The fight went on for a full minute before the smaller fighter got fed up with the fight and slid under the overextended arm, making three quick punches into the boy's armpit before slamming his foot into the back of the knee to send him tumbling forward.

When the taller one tried to get up sand kept obstructing his balance keeping him on the ground looking rather pathetic before he gave up on the fight.
