Bed Rest

Opening my eyes I made my triumphant return to the world of the conscious.

I was in the hospital.

It was dark.

The only light came from the cracks of the door and what little moonlight managed to make its way through the clouds.

Little by little I tested to see whether not I could move.

I could.

Seems I was put back together for the most part.

My right arm was still unusable though thankfully it was because of a cast, I could still move my fingers so that's a relief. My legs were pretty much untouched in comparison to my upper body, still I should take it slow.

Positioning myself so my legs are dangling off the side of the bed I slowly lower myself off the bed until I was positive my legs wasn't going to suddenly give out.

The rest of my things thankfully were in the room with me, minus the contents of my tool pouch.

And a curtain object of great importance.

With everything back in its rightful place I carefully made my way out the window down onto the street below.

Using my cloak I hide the majority of my injuries with the exception of the bandages around my head.

I don't remember hitting my head?

Let's see a headache with a potential side of memory loss?

I may have a concussion.

Lovely.

As I walk down the street ignoring the glances of those I past by I try to recall everything that happened.

I don't think I lost consciousness prior to when Minato found me. But truthfully I don't remember actually colliding with the tree.

Perhaps I momentarily blacked out?

Would certainly explain why I don't remember hitting my head.

Continuing my journey I make my way to a certain ramen shop.

I wonder if this place serves yakisoba?

"Little snake. Welcome." The ramen creator greeted me.

When Kushina brought me here she insisted on calling me Little snake so now I was forever Little snake to this man.

Looking at the menu in depth for the first time I wasn't  surprised to see they only served ramen for the most part.

"I'll have Kushina's usual," I say as a feeling of drowsiness begins to set in now that I wasn't moving around.

Letting the front of my cloak open I rest my arms on the table area before slumping forward myself.

"You good?" I hear the father of ramen say as he places my beautifully crafted ramen in front of me.

"No."

"I can see," he said, noticing the state I was in just under the cloak, "Should you really be out and about like this‽."

"No."

Finishing my bowl I pay and promise to go get some rest before continuing my journey. But before I could sleep I had something to do.

Returning to the scene of the crime I made my way through the trees.

It's gotta be around here somewhere.

The Sword of the Thunder God wasn't with my things, thankfully I did recall not having it when Rin found me so I must have dropped it before.

I end up looking around for what was probably like half an hour before finally finding the thing not too far from the tree I was slammed into.

Feeding it some chakra it comes to life violently as lightning momentarily arcs all around the blade before stabilizing.

Well that's a relief.

Deactivating the sword I decide to take a little rest against a tree before making my return trip.

All this moving was beginning to take its toll.

Using my good arm I call upon my neglected iryo-nin training, placing my hand gently against my side. I try to relax as I use iryo-jutsu to help with the pain.

The pain must have been what was keeping me up as once it had faded back down to a tolerable level I was out.

"Hey my guy you got me if I am attacked by strange creatures of the woods right?" I say looking directly at Anbu who had been with me since my return

Apparently sometime after leaving the hospital someone actually did come to check up on me, only to discover I was missing.

Rather unfortunate really.

One village alarm later and I was found sleeping peacefully in the woods. So now I have a personal guard. To keep me safe from would be assailants and myself of course.

After my little nap in the woods, the Hokaga visited to ask me personally what had happened as the village had nothing.

There were some tracks but they just abruptly go from the easiest tracks to follow in the world to… nothing, no sign of them.

Apparently the arm I cut off was just gone.

Nothing.

The village had nothing.

If I wasn't attacked we'd never have even known someone else was within the village walls.

Sinking further into my bed I let out a tired sigh.

I'm bored

Opening my pack I pulled out a metal case, opening the case I grabbed the vial I received from sensei.

I'm curious if I can speed up my recovery.

Pulling off the little cap I am just about to inject myself when my wrist is grabbed. Looking up I see the Anbu stand right next to me.

"Please?" I say but they just take the vial away from me along with my pack.

Letting out a huff I resigned myself to being bored.
