10 Chapter 9( Witch)

"It's done." He said after a long silence. I look at him and after that cleared my throat. He was pertaining to the band aid he used to cover up on my wound. I nodded slowly and bit my lip.

"Joseph!"

I lifted my eyes from him and look at who called his name. My mouth slightly opened when I saw that it was Glare. Grayson's fiancee.

She look at the two of us with brows furrowed. Her cold stares directed at me. That brought me to the idea of getting out from his fiancee's car.

"Uh, hi. Nice to see you again" I immediately said. I didnt bother looking at Grayson. I made sure I keep my distance on him, I dont want Glare to overthink anything.

"Yeah, nice to see you too." She uttered slowly before her eyes landed on the man behind me.

"Excuse me. I'll just talk with my Dad."

I immediately excused myself from the situation. There this lump on my throat that I dont want to swallow when I saw how Glare move closer to Grayson and touch his arms.

I closed my eyes and sighed.

Its a good timing when Daddy is I think almost done with his talk with Mr. Solis.

"That's a deal then Orlando. I'll start bringing my men here tomorrow for the harvest. I need to hurry this up cause summer is coming." I heard Mr Solis said.

I stop and waited for my Dad's answer.

"No problem Ricardo. Rest assured that I'll have some of my men too for help."

They shake hands and tap each other's back. They even laughed at what Daddy said.

After that Mr Solis said his goodbye. He was accompanied by his driver to his car. The car beep and Daddy waved his hands.

My Dad then glance at my direction with a serious expression. I grinned at him and come forward.

"Give me one reason why I shouldn't be mad at you now." He immediately said.

I pouted and hug my father. I know he can't say no when I'm acting sweet.

"I'm sorry okay? Actually nothing happened on my way here. I just totally forgotten how to go down and add the fact that the horse is kinda tall, thats why. " I tried to explain.

Dad eyed me seriously. I smiled at him.

Later on he sighed.

"Make sure you wont do it again. And by the way, are you alright? I totally forgotten that you're hurt"

I cant help but smile. Even if Daddy's hard on me sometimes he never forgets to worry and forgives me, everytime I have done something wrong.

He checked my arms and then a relief plastered on his face when he saw it was already been covered.

Daddy then smiled while looking at me.

Grayson and Glare were nearing. It seems like two of them have a serious talk. I bit my lip and try to act casual.

"Joseph! Thank you so much for helping my daughter. I almost forgotten the real reason why you're here.By the way, who's this pretty lady you are with?" Si Daddy.

I cant help but frowned. Jealousy is eating me when my father complimented her. He never did once told me that I'm pretty! He always say that I'm nothing but his spoiled brat princess!

Glare blushed and tuckled her hear while smiling shyly. I decided to smiled a little too. Its not good if I keep on frowning here.

And Grayson. I glance at his direction and notice that his looking at me too. I cant help but flushed knowing that I caught him staring at me. I pinch my hand and gazed at the other side.

"No problem with that sir. And, this is Glare Forbes sir. A family friend." He said thickly.

I immediately look back at what he just said. Grayson was serious as he said it. While I cant help but be shocked.

I glance at Glare's way and saw how she's not comfortable. I think she doesn't like what Grayson just said..

Well, who would on their right mind would totally love what Grayson said. She's his fiancee and the way he introduce her was nothing but a family friend?! Ofcourse she'll feel uncomfortable.

I waited for her to defend her name but she didn't. I just thought that she doesn't want any troubles with that deal anymore. Maybe, she must be handling it maturedly. The way she just shake her head while smiling with Grayson and Daddy now felt like she knows that she's more than just a family friend.

Maybe she knows that she is the fiancee and there's no need to brag it about or defend her title if Grayson somewhats maybe messing with her. Maybe I'm just the only one who's acting this way. Cause the truth is, I would totally be mad if I were her. And that difference somehow made me feel insecure about her more.

"Its almost four already. Sad, please do escort Ms. Forbes to our food tent. And Joseph?" Daddy said.

Grayson nodded and then glance at my direction. Then he glance at Glare and said something to her. There's something with how Glare nodded at Grayson making me feel sick. Like I dont want to see it but I don't have a choice. And I feel so insecure.

Insecure, that word. I know that its wrong to be insecure with others. We have our own talents, beauty, name and personality that made as unique from the others. To feel so insecure about her is so wrong.

I sighed and nodded at Dad. Grayson and Daddy then both turn their backs and started walking away from us. I then glance at Glare and see how she looks at Grayson like a proud partner. Well, she must be proud at him. And she knows everything about Grayson, unlike me who just met him and recently be friends with him.

"Uhm, lets go. We have fruits here." I opted to say after a long silence.

At first she looks at me coldy. After that, she smiled.

"Alright."

I nodded and we both decided to go to our nearest tent. My father always bring foods everytime there's this harvest. He thinks that it might took too long if he'll go back at the house for foods and time will just be wasted. That's why he opted to just bring foods here.

It didn't took us that long before we reach my Daddy's food tent. There were three housemaids inside. All different type of foods for this day were placed on a silver tupper wares. Fruits are on baskets. The foods are not just for Daddy and his investors, its for our workers too.

"You can leave us here. We'll call you when were finished" I said to our housemaids. They all nodded immediately. I told them to go out so that they could atleast have their break time and breathe some fresh air.

There were chairs and tables inside. I told Glare to choose for her space and get a paper plate on her right side. I thought she already got one but I gazed back at her when she scoffed and rolled her eyes on me. She seems mad. I frowned because of that.

"I'll go straight to the point with you this time. I have heard news that you were seeing my fiancee but I just let it passed since you told me at school that theres nothing going on. But to see you a while ago, inside my fiancee's car and acting like some damsel in distress.. makes me feel so irritated. Tell me, do you like Joseph? Do you like my fiancee?" She asked with a tone of accusation like she's dying to asked me this thing a while ago.

I gapsed at what she said. Truth is. I was surprised of how she suddenly acted. I thought she's soft spoken and demure. To see her aggresively acting this way felt weird.

"I already told you. I dont have something for Grayson." I answered.

She scoffed. "Oh really? Why do I feel that your using your father just to get close with him? I knew when a girl like my fiancee, and looking at you now." She said while looking at me from head to toe. I gritted my teeth because of annoyance.

"Seems like you really like him. Too bad he's already taken. And please, dont deny it, what I saw a while ago is nothing serious right? Your wound is not that deep for Joseph to carry you into his car and with the fact that you have all the housemaids here to do it for you!" She said almost shouting.

I clenched my fist and look away. I know that. But Grayson is the one who drag me there. I wanted to defend myself but I felt like I dont have the power to.

Glare then laughed fakely.

"What a witch."

"I am not" I replied immediately.

She then move forward. She's taller than me. My eyes only leveled her lips.

"If you're not then prove yourself. Don't come near my fiancee anytime or anywhere. I am a good friend but I can be your worst enemy. Mark my words" She said before she left.

I bit my lip. The words from her mouth sting. I suddenly feel like crying.

I wiped my tears and laughed at myself. Stupid tears. I mentally said.

What Glare has told me was nothing but a confrontation. I shouldn't be crying because of that. But I was hurt when she thinks that I'm only acting just to get close with Grayson..

It was after an hour when I decided to go out. Daddy and Grayson are both standing outside the tent. Grayson's eyes suddenly found mine. His brows furrowed while looking at me. I look away and started coming nearer to my Dad. I glance at Glare and saw that she was standing beside Grayson.

"Dad, can I go home already?I'm.not feeling well" I said.

Daddy eyed me and worry was itched on his face.

" Okay I'll tell Nor to take you home. Make sure to drink some meds when you get home okay?" Daddy said. I nodded at him.

"I can drive her home sir. I'm on my way home too" Grayson butt in.

I bit my lip.

I glance at Glare and saw how she stared at me then rolled her eyes.

"W-well, we could bring with us Ms. Adeline sir, I mean, its just me and Joseph so it would never be a problem." She said it softly.

I shake my head immediately without looking at them.

"I'll call Nor. We have our own driver so why would I'll go with them?" I said enough for them to hear.

I notice how Glare glared at me. She wins with the confrontation a while ago because I know that she have her right. But to make me look like stupid is next to impossible. She might be an angel with hidden torns but I'm more than a devil with a pitch fork myself.

"I'll go ahead Dad. Take care okay."

Daddy nodded and I kiss his cheeks. Grayson glance at my direction and it seems like he wanted to say something. But then I turn my back on them faster than I think I can.
