Preparations

Hannah led the boys into another room. This room was way different from all the others in her house. This one had all kinds of tech in it. There was a small desk with a chemistry set, another with a set of computers and yet another laden with materials, designs and clothes. It was like a fashionista and tech whizz in one room.

Neo took a minute to examine the room while Lee went over to a computer with Hannah. Being careful not to touch anything, Neo marveled at how organised this space was. "You're way more organised than our garages", he said over his shoulder.

"Thank you Neo, I've set it up in such a manner that my work is....well, seamless. Come along. We need to prepare."

Hannah pat a seat next to her in front of a huge glass case. She tapped some keys on one of the computers to set up a demo of sorts. Neo joined them but looked completely confused.

"You mind telling me what's going here, H?"

Hannah finished her setup then joined them. "If you're gonna investigate...you need clothes. Can't be walking around in these outfits for this", she noted.

Lee raised an eyebrow and looked at her, "Why do we need clothes?! Can't we investigate like this?". Hannah laughed, "And stick out like a sore thumb? Wow you have a ways to go. Begin!"

She pressed a button that launched their makeshift settee to one side of the glass as the dummies displayed the outfits she'd prepared.

"These are gonna be your outfits. They're interwoven with ferronium, the element that makes us mutants. These suits are designed to work with whatever power set you have and give you an advantage."

"Whoa whoa whoa... Is this Wakanda or something? You put 'ferronium' into fabric?!", interrupted Lee. "And I don't have any powers so what's the need?".

Hannah turned, "No powers yet? My, you are a late bloomer. All the more reason then since ferronium is in our DNA". She restarted the dummies' demonstration of the suits' capabilites. "So. As I was saying. Made with cotton, denim and interwoven with ferronium, these outfits work symbiotically with you while allowing you to move easily. The best part? Virtually indestructible."

KABOOOOOOOOM!!!!

The boys ducked for cover when they heard the explosion, only to see the clothes unscathed. They looked towards Hannah, totally expressionless at what they'd witnessed.

"Are you sure we're gonna need bulletproof clothes?!", Lee yelled snapping out of his stupor.

Hannah looked at him firmly while speaking, "What happened to thinking on their level? They're surely gonna be equipped with such attire. We gotta be smarter than them. Now over here."

She showed them 2 profiles of suspects, one of whom was the emerald eyed man.

"These are our suspects in this operation. Wasn't easy but I tracked them down to this lounge. Looks exclusively for folks like this."

Neo took a good look at the woman's picture. "I feel like I remember her somehow. Maybe chatting with her might jog a memory or something... When do we leave?"

Hannah grinned.

"Tonight."
