magicians apprentice

my sister comes running in giving me a big hug, she is twenty two, a head smaller than me deep blue eyes, same as mine and brown hair stylised in yet another new position; this time it looked like a traditional Viking women style, but it would likely change tomorrow. Her pink jeans and leather jacket really showing her favourite colour, it's weird how it doesn't fit her personality in the slightest " hey bro I missed you while I was at uni taking a year off then getting back at it with an apprentiship" you see she wants to be a computer programmer of some kind she is extremely tech savvy and I have no idea what she is talking about some times, I follow her eyes as I break the hug and I see she is staring at the puppy and veronica "Elliott, question. Why is there a girl in our house that I have never met before"?

"I'm his girlfriend" veronica decides to chip in at that moment not realising that her wonderful smile reveals to much teeth my sister however doesn't seem to notice. She just nods twice before pulling me out of the kitchen "so, brother what is she like?" do I go with what I should tell her and lie or what I feel, probably safer to go with the latter "she is funny, a tiny bit scary, hot as fuck but strangely kind to me when she has no reason"

"lock her down before she wises up and leaves you" she shakes me as she said that

"trust me, sis she won't ok … I'm going to involve you in a secret ok, meet me at where we used to play superheroes at half one"

"ok?" she raises an eyebrow before walking out of the hallway and through the front door "going out going to say hello to a few old friends" she walked out still visibly confused

"be back soon daisy" my mom's voice coming through the living room strange as I haven't seen her in a few days but it's a welcome normality when I get back into the kitchen to talk to veronica she is gone, welp this is bad 'hunter where is veronica' there seems to be no response from him as I rush into the living room with hunter now on my mums lap and veronica talking to her "Elliott, veronica over hear tells me you have already talked about marriage, care to comment" her tone heavily suggested that I did something wrong so I ran out of the house, as fast as I could, making hunter follow behind me. I could hear veronica chuckle as I did so. I made it to the abandoned Wearhouse by one and in fifteen minutes daisy showed up "so what's this secret you want to tell me … bro don't tell me you got her pregnant"

"what no … I just had to tell you something"

"just say it hurry up … god your acting like when I came out to mom, you're an idiot whatever it is me and mom will still love you"

"it's nothing like that … just listen …" I stood uneasy like I was going to fall over I felt queasy not knowing if I should tell her the existence of a whole other world as I am unsure of what it would do to her, but here goes "… everything you have read about in those dark stories are real and probably all the myths and stuff are too I don't know, I do know it sounds farfetched though so" I make hunter come to me and daisy raises an eyebrow. I command hunter to will the illusion off him, when it breaks, he grows to full size making daisy shriek in fear, slowly hunter moves towards her and sits down panting. Daisy realising that hunter is harmless she calms down "I believe you what else is supernatural? something else must be" she seems more existed then anything right now, so I see no harm in telling her.

"well I can use magic and veronica is a vampire" she looked at me wide eyed.

"what if she eats mom"

"she won't, she has developed quite a taste for me though" I chuckled as she looked at me like I was crazy

"you're a vampire now too?" she looked at me in wonder "can I become one?" she looked exited, more so than when she got into uni

"no, I'm not a vampire, veronica is the race not the disease"

"there are two types?"

"that's what I said at first, but it makes sense after she explains it to you"

"are you two really dating then?" she looked at me sceptically and full of pity "I can tell that you like her"

"we are not together, I technically only met her yesterday and we kinda bonded over a shared experience" I started to head back as the illusion over hunter came back slowly transforming back into a puppy he was picked up by daisy, as we walked back to our house. When we got their veronica was not anywhere downstairs. my mom spoke from the kitchen her voice slightly muffled by eating a cookie but still audible "you and your girlfriend can sleep in your room, but if you ever decide to have someone move in without talking to me you will be moving out, love you go talk to her"

"thanks mom I won't forget this, love you" I ran upstairs to my room closing my door, veronica instantly hugging me thanking me for agreeing in the first place, even though I knew what she was. After a while I could see that she was asleep, her cheeks stained from tears even though I never heard or saw her cry. Laying her down on my bed I grabbed one of my comics and began reading it. Not really to follow on with the story of it, just to pass the time. When I was finished, I put the comic book down to see, a grinning Victoria staring at me from the bed "why do you stare at me when your wakeup veronica?". A smirk visible on her face, she got up from her position on the bed, walked over to me and kissed my head. chuckling I gave her my arm. I wonder how I heal with no scar every time she does this, I'll have to ask, but for the meantime I'll find out about magic stuff. "Victoria two things, one I seriously need to find a nickname for you like … hmmmmmm … Viki" she looked genuinely happy as I continued "two could I learn some magic" Victoria walked out of the room and out into the garden, I watched as she lured me to meet her using her finger.
