Chapter 28

The next three weeks went by without any issue. I walked around the mansion when Saryia had her business partners over. She told me that wouldn't want to be in there and act nice to a bunch of stuck up vampires. I totally agreed, I can't stand people that think their better than me. I hadn't seen Mercy around that much. When I did she would go the opposite direction. I walked around with a confidence, Saryia must have scared the crap out of her.

I didn't see Jamie at all. I wasn't complaining, but I wondered if she ran away. I only saw her once after our break up. That one time was when I saw her in the orchard. I don't even know why I'm thinking about Jamie. I have a mate now, and she loves me more than life. I will remain loyal to her. While I was admiring the art in the hall, someone's strong arms pulled me into a corner pinning me against the wall.

To my surprise and disgust it was Jamie. I growled, she looked taken back. On top of that she looked like she hadn't been getting any type of sleep. Wonder why that is.

"We need to talk." She said quietly.

"Fuck off!" I snarled. She blinked hard then shook her head.

"I need to explain myself to you." Jamie took a deep breath. I chuckled in disgust.

"You don't need to explain anything. You lied to me, and you betrayed me!" Tears fell down her faced. I snorted, I wasn't in the mood for any of her crocodile tears.

"Hatspehut, listen to me please. I didn't want to sleep with her. I didn't want to hurt you. Sweetheart, I'm so sorry. Don't do this to us."

"There is no us!" I yell at her. Jamie's hand clasped around my throat. Her eyes turning light blue. She has never lashed out at me like this. The fear in my eyes must have been apparent because she let go of me. Out of nowhere her lips crush into mine. Her tongue in my mouth in no time at all.

I pushed her away and made my way to the garden. Jamie grabbed my waist pushing me back in the corner. I struggled to get away from her, but she gad a firm grip on me.

"I had no choice! Mercy was going to kill you if I didn't sleep with her! I never wanted any of this! It was all Saryia remember!. . . Please cast me not away! I love you." She finally loosened her grip. I slowly pushed her away. I sighed shaking my head.

"What's done is done. The goddess has spoken. Saryia and I are mated. I love her, I can never be yours again." Jamie backed away from me, tears falling from her face.

"Your lying! You are still angry with me! Tell me it isn't true!" Jamie's breathing quickened. I pulled down my shirt showing her the bite mark Saryia gave me. This time her bite stayed. Jamie's eyes burned with rage. She punched the wall behind her.

"Jamie, your free of me. I know you love Mercy, even though you won't admit it. You love her. Don't be miserable because of me. Let me go." Jamie walked back up to me taking my face in her hands. The look in her eyes changed to something I have never seen from her, darkness and malice.

"You chose this. Now you will pay for it." She let go of my face. I wasn't sure what she meant, but the look in her eyes gave me the idea. I got out of the corner and ran to Saryia's office. Jamie loosing her mind because of me! Mercy has corrupted her this much? No, Jamie wouldn't hurt me would she? All these questions flew through my head as I made my way to Saryia's office.

I finally got there out of breath and panting trying to regain it. I never thought that I would be afraid of Jamie, but I'm terrified right now. I waited outside for Saryia's meeting to be over. Constantly I looked behind my back, making sure I was alone. Mercy wants to kill me because I supposedly want Jamie. I hope I've made myself clear, I don't. Now Mercy may not be the only one that wants me dead.

Jamie looked so heartbroken when she saw the mark on my shoulder. It was like her world was over. A feeling of guilt and pain invaded my body. I don't know why I do feel guilty she did it on her own. Besides I can take on the stupid red head. What is she going to do to me anyway! I can beat her ass again, like I did few weeks back.

The door opened and some male vampires walked out. They looked at me and hissed. I growled at them. They seemed offended and walk to the mansion. I poked my head in. Saryia was sitting at her enormous desk. She looked amazing in her flowing white blouse. She looked up, she smiled beckoning me to come in. I ran to her throwing myself in her lap.

"What's wrong Haty? Your shaking what is it my love?" She was right, I am shaking really bad. I buried my face in her breast. Saryia stroked my hair not knowing what was going on. I raised my eyes up at her, she was scared and concerned.

"What is baby? You can tell me." My heart thumped against my chest. I couldn't breathe, yet I found some breath to tell her.

"Jamie stopped me in the hall." Saryia's facial expression changed into pure rage. She stared at me stroking my cheek.

"What did she do to you?" She said breathing hard.

"She- she told me that- she didn't want to sleep with Mercy. . . She told me that Mercy wants to kill me, but- she hasn't because her and Jamie made a deal. . . that Jamie sleeps with her and I would be safe. Then she kissed me, and told me she loves me." Saryia's breathing became laborious and harder.

"Is that it?" I shook my head.

"I told her that you are my mate and I showed her the mark you gave me. . . Then sh- she said that I'm going to pay. I'm so scared Saryia." I cried into her shoulder. Saryia hugged me tighter. Saryia shushed me, holding me tight against her body. My trembling ceased listening to her breathe gently.

"No one will hurt you. Not Jamie or Mercy. I promise." Saryia dried my tears then stood me up.

"I'll have a talk with the two of them later, for now I have an idea that might cheer you up." Saryia smirked kissing my head. Her arm went around me as we left her office. I was still shaking a little as we made our way to a part of the mansion that I've never been in before.

"Where are we going?" Saryia smiled rubbing my back. She gets behind me putting her hands over my eyes. We took a few more steps. I reach out my hands to grab on to something when we stopped. My hands touched a railing.

"You ready?" I nodded. Her hands left my face going down to my waist. I am in awe at this big room that we are in. It looks like a place where we can have a big party.

"I didn't know that we had a ball room." Saryia's chin rested on my shoulder. She chuckled kissing my neck.

"You like it?" I nodded. Saryia's grip tighten around me. I rubbed her arms looking around this enormous room.

"It has come to my attention that your birthday is coming up in another three weeks. I've decided to throw you a large, extravagant, astonishing party that the richest princess would be envious of." My jaw dropped. I turned around in her arms and hugged her. I had parties before, but nothing close to what Saryia is talking about.

"I was thinking this would be a masquerade. Would you like that my love?"

"I would love it, but don't I need a dress for such a party?" Saryia kisses my head stroking my cheek.

"I have hired a seamstress that will take care of you, your brother, and the pack." I tilted my head.

"What about the humans? They deserve to have fun too." Saryia's eyebrow raised. She thought about it.

"Okay my love, they can enjoy the party as well. After they set everything up and I check that everything is perfect." I rested my head on her chest.

"Your so good to me." Her touch sent blast of heat throughout my being. I am so happy that she is going to do all of this for me.

"Your the lady of my heart. Your happiness is mine. Your going to love it, and I'll have a special gift for you."

"What's the gift?" Saryia chuckled and backed away. She put her hand over her mouth and shook her head. I smiled walking towards her.

"Saryia." She giggled and started to run away. I chased after her. I caught up to her and jumped on her back. She swung me around pinning me up against the wall. My arms were secured around her neck. Saryia's hands went down to my waist pulling me closer.

"If I told you now it wouldn't be much of a surprise now would it?" Our lips touched. My mind went dark as her slender body pressed into mine. Saryia's soft hand pulled my leg up to her waist. Her tongue brushed my lower lip. I let her in. Soon as I did she picked me up, both of my legs were wrapped around her waist.

She finally let me catch my breath. Saryia's eyes twinkled looking at the mark on my shoulder. She kissed it then put me down.

"The seamstress already got everyone's measurements, except for yours. I can't wait to see your dress at the party. I'll find you then your just going to have to come with me. You trust me right?"

"Of course I do." Saryia smiled and kissed me again. My fingers ran through her hair, taking it out of that bun it was in.

"Let's go get your measurements huh?" I sighed then nodded. I was still worried about Jamie, but right now I am safe. I will stay next to Saryia as much as much as I can until my party. Wonder what the "surprise gift" is she talking bout. I bet I'm going to love it.
