1. Down the rabbit hole

    Hi, my name is Aíkétó Higurashi, but most people just call me Aiké. I'm 18 years old, and out of school. Today I'm going to be living with my cousin Kagome for the summer.

   *Knock* *Knock* *Knock*

   "Oh, Aiké! it's so wonderful to see you. Kagome will be so happy!" Auntie exclaimed as she let me in the house. "Sota come down, Aiké is here!" Auntie said.

   "Ok, coming mom," Sota's muffled voice answered from upstairs.

   "Your room is the one next to Kagome's."

   "Hey Aiké," Sota said as he hugged me.

   "Hey Sota! Where's Kagome and gramps?" I questioned.

   "Grandpa is in the shed cleaning up, and I don't know where Kagome is,"

   "Ok, thanks auntie, thanks Sota," I said as I went up the stairs.

   I put my stuff in the room, grabbed some bed clothes, and headed to the bathroom to take a nice, hot, bath.

   I cautiously stepped out of the bath, being careful not to slip. After making sure I had my footing, I grabbed a towel and covered myself up. As I was about to exit, a scream came from outside "NO! DON'T GO IN THERE!" Before you could process what was happening, the door burst as a white haired man stumbled in.

   "AHHHHH!" I screamed while slapping him across the face. His eyes widened as he rushed back out; I slammed the door behind him. Not long after, I heard Kagome say "Sit boy," A loud thud followed.

   I opened the door to see the guy face planted, an annoyed look on his face.

   "Hey Kagome. Is everything ok?" I inquired.

   "Yeah, everything is fine. Inuyasha is just being contrary," Kagome said, laughing nervously.

   "Ok then," I said, sweat dropping. "Ok, let's go eat, I can smell Aunties cooking," I said as I dragged Kagome down the stairs.

   "Ah this smells so good!" I said as Auntie placed onigiri (rice balls) on the table.

   "Thank you dear. Take as many as you want, you're looking a little skinny, haha!" Auntie laughed while piling food onto my plate. I giggled nervously, watching as the mountain of food grew higher.

   "Mmm... That was delicious auntie," I said as I patted my stomach, sighing in contentment.

   "Thank you dear," Auntie said.

   'Hey, Inuyasha, right?" I asked.

   "Yeah, what about it?" Inuyasha said, furrowing his eyebrows.

   "Hey, don't be rude," Kagome said.

   "It's ok Kagome," I said. "I'm Aíkétó, but everyone calls me Aiké. By the way, are those dog ears real?" I asked.

   "Yeah," he replied.

   "Ah, I wanna touch 'em," I said as I reached up and patted his ears.

"So cool," I said, amazed.

   "Hey Mom, we're heading back to the feudal era," Kagome said.

   "Dear, you just got back, you should stay a little while," auntie suggested.

   "I'm sorry, I don't understand, you're saying that you go to the feudal era, as in through the well?" I questioned

   "Yeah, but you can't go," Kagome said.

   "Why?" I asked.

   "It's too dangerous. There are demons that can eat you alive; and plus, even if you where to try and get down the well, you'd have to have some role in the past that needs to be fulfilled in order to pass through," Kagome explained.

   "Oh," I said.

Time skip

   "Goodbye, see you later," Kagome said as she and Inuyasha went down the well.

   "Oh no," Auntie said worridly.

   "What's wrong?" I asked.

   "Kagome forgot her medical kit!" Auntie exclaimed. "Aiké, sorry to ask, but could you go and give it to her?" Auntie asked.

   "Ok sure thing!" I said, smiling as I took the medical kit from her. "Well I'm off!" I said as I hopped over and into the well.
