The Irregular Grimm at Magic Highschool

A dark, moonless night spread across the sky. The brilliance of the stars were hidden behind the curtains of the cloud.

The barren land with no sign of crops. Each step one would take, the dirt would rise from the ground. The street light, only source of light, showed no promise as to keep its light up for long. Not that it mattered since, no one would be coming here at this hour.

But that didn't stop the man, who was running across the barren land. He was panting, sweating all over and was barely able to stop the bleeding coming from his shoulder. But even if he stopped his bleeding, his right hand was in no condition to move.

But he didn't stop, for his life really depended on it. He mind was in turmoil, exhaustion from his previous battle has already buried it's nails on him, dragging him down. And as he finally reached under the street lamp, he gave up.

Helping himself to sit by the lamp, he started to breathe heavily. Sweat beads covering his eyelids were hindering his vision but he was able to make out the three men walking towards him, their hands holding onto their own scythes. Under the darkness covering their appearance, they looked like the personification of death itself.

He breath out a sigh and slowly raised his arm towards the back of his head, drawing a machete from his back. Taking in one more breath, he sharpened his gaze towards the approaching men.

"Why do you still struggle? You know you can't escape", the man in the said. He was speaking in English, but his accent proved that English wasn't his first language. The three haulted their steps, not stepping into the light of the lamp post.

"It would have been you in my place, if it wasn't for your cowardly ambush", the wounded man spoke venomously.

"Then maybe the next time your people try to interfere with our matters, they'd be more careful", the man in the middle chuckled. The two on his either side joined in.

"If your ritual is something like the fuilcrè rain ritual, we can't turn a blind eye now, can we?"

"And that would be the death of you", the man said, as his voice began to change. The three men rotated their heads in a weird ways. By the time the stepped into the light, their face had no resemblance to human. The men all looked like trolls, with their leathery skin, a large nose, and sharp, needle-like fangs.

(Hässlich)

"Oh, just to remind you, there isn't any fuilcrè around here. The one you met was our guy", the man spoke.



(fuilcrè)

"I kinda figured it out. It would be too convenient for three Hasslich from the Reapers to appear here for a rain ritual", the wounded man spoke in disdain. He gripped his machete tightly, as digital code projected out of the machete and into his body. The next instant, the machete was making a loud, humming sound.

"As expected from a Grimm, you guys always have a weapon on you. I guess taking away your CAD wasn't enough to disarm you",the Hasslich laughed. If a normal human heard this, they would be so terrified, that they would fall unconscious before they even see those faces.

The three men gripped their machete and the same digital symbol projected out of them. The next instant, the scythes emitted a faint milky glow.

"Two bad your [high frequency blade] is useless again [molecular divider]"

"So the rumours of the reapers getting their hands on this spell was true after all", the man referred to as a 'Grimm' muttered. He had the resolve to go down fighting, but he had no confidence in surviving this ordeal

The three stepped in, looking ready to decapitate him.

"So long, decapitare-"

*THUD*

A sudden 'thud' interrupted the trio from doing their task. They turned around to see a figure curled up on the ground.

His figure resembled that of a teenage boy, but due to the darkness, no one could make out his looks.

"....i.....urts.. ", he muttered. His body was trembling

"...it..h..urts..."

".....it.... Hurts.... "

The voice slowly grew louder, and clearer.

"IT HURTS!! IT HURTS!!!"

The boy screamed. He was hugging his body, and sometimes clenched his head as if it was gonna explode.

"IT HURTS! IT HURTS! MAKE IT STOP! AAAAAAAHHHHHHH! MY HEAD HURTS, MY EYES HURT, EVERYWHERE HURTS! AAAAAHHHHHH"

the boy screamed at the top of his lungs the four men watched cluelessly until one of the trio stepped forward.

"SHUT THE F*CK UP!", the other Hasslich roared. He walked up to the the body and kicked the boy into the light.

As the boy fell near the Grimm, they could clearly make put his figure. His body looked of average build, but was slightly pale. Their was no visible injury on his body, despite his bone chilling scream.

Wait, that wasn't true. There was an injury. Though the boy covered his eyes, they could see the bloody tears rolling down his cheeks.

Even for the Hasslich, the sight looked spooky.

The third Hasslich couldn't bear it any longer and stepped up. With a roar, he smashed the metal handle of the scythe to the jaw of the boy and anither kick to the chest, slamming in him to the body of the Grimm.

Is the Grimm hadn't moved his machete away, it wound have definitely pierced the boy.

But by now, the boy stopped screaming. He just laid there, on the ground after the Grimm pushed him away.

"Hulda, I think it's best to kill both of them", the second Hasslich commented in German.

"Yeah, I agree", the first Hasslich, now known as Hulda, nodded. "Call in the rest, the hundjagers would love to taste the blood of Grimm and a kehrseite"

The Grimm's mind was filled with thoughts to escape. Till a moment ago, he was ready to die, but now this boy appeared out of nowhere, almost as if he fell from the sky.

He needed to save him, that was his responsibility. His duty as a Grimm.

But his thought process was interrupted by the boy. He slowly pushed his body up from the ground. He was barely standing and looked like a creepy zombie from his posture.

The three Hasslich were a bit cautious by the sudden change, but didn't take it too seriously. The moment the boy opens his eyes to see their faces would be enough to scare him back to the ground.

The boy faced the three Hasslich. With his hands no longer covering his eyes, the three could see the bloody dripping from the eyelashes of the boy.

But the moment the boy opened his eyes, the three reapers took a step back. It was ironic to the previous thoughts of the Hasslich.

But who could blame them for it was what they saw...

"...Hulda, his eyes..."

"...he's a Grimm!", Hulda roared in disdain.

"...but those are not the eyes of a Grimm...", the other Hasslich muttered.

This conversation confused the Grimm. One of the reapers confirmed the boy to be a Grimm, but the other two were not satisfied with the answer.

The wounded man  was a Grimm. A rare variety of human, who are able to see the world other cannot. They can see the creatures, who mask themselves as humans. These creatures, referred to as wesens, can change their appearnce from a beast to a human and vice versa.

Although this is often hidden, and the general public doesn't know about the wesens, they couldn't escape the eyes of Grimms, who have taken it upon themselves to police the variety of wesen species. (most times, the wesen lose their heads, literally)

But it's not just the Grimm who recognise the wesen when they drop their mask as humans. When a wesen changes their appearance, refered to as woge, they are able to recognize a Grimm.

They see the Grimms eyes turn into an infinite darkness, and they are able to see their own 'woged' form within those eyes. This was a common knowledge among Grimms who interacted with wesen.

But here, the three reapers are confused as to whether the boy is a Grimm or not was quite peculiar.

"He's a Grimm. Kill Him!"

Author's note

So, I am sure their are many who are confused with what is going on since Grimm isn't as popular as many other series. So, I will explain as we go own what all the terms referred here means. I purposely made all this vague so as to introduce it better in the successive chapters.
