Chapter 1

"Which part of the ovaries are eggs developed Cindy? ", The grade 11 biology teacher asked. "The germineal epithelium ma'am ", Cindy answered. 

Ariel yawned. It was an incredibly boring day and all the students looked bored to death. "Good, class prepare for your test coming up on-", The teacher was interrupted by a large boom sounding overhead. 

"Christ, what was that? ",Ariel said as she and her best friend Jero rushed to the area of the sound. 

"Jero, Ariel get away from there now! ", The teacher screamed as pandemonium ensued since everyone ran helter skelter.

      Ariel chose to ignore her teacher and in the middle of the hustle, she collided face first with someone's chest. The person held her as she was about to fall and when she opened her eyes, she saw two distinct green diamonds staring at her. 

"I'm sorry,  I didn't see you there", she said as she got away from his strong grip. 

"Ari, you there? ", Jero called out to her. She looked in Jero's direction for a maximum duration of a fraction of a second. When she looked in front of her again, the boy was gone.     

Ariel frantically spun around in a circle but still couldn't see him. Jero shook her hard and she snapped back to life. 

"What's wrong, who are you looking for", he asked. Ariel shook her head.

"Never mind, nothing's wrong...what made that sound".

"There's a boy in a crater ", said Jero hysterically. Ariel's eyes widened. "What?", She said and ran after him. 

The boy in the crater was nothing short of handsome. He had slick black hair that was not a strand out of place which seemed highly improbable considering the way he entered the crater. 

He looked about a head taller than her. When he opened his eyes, - which also seemed improbable - they were as black at coal tar. 

He wore ripped jeans and a bad boy biker jacket. 

She had to admit... She was intrigued.

She and Jero carefully slid down the crater. Immediately, the boy jumped up and took a fighting stance. Jero stopped dead in his tracks but she stubbornly kept on going. 

"Girl, quit moving, he looks deadly", Jero said. 

"Oh come on, don't  be a scaredy cat".

As she was about 15 feet away, she got blasted with an unexpected stun gun[1].

She blacked out. 

Author's note:[1] a stun gun is a gun that produces an electric shock which makes someone unconscious or stop moving.
