LARIASHA FROM HEAVEN

Lariasha is an angel. She was bound to protect the child that links to her soul but she chose not to.

She watched the dying baby until his last breath. For Lariasha, her duty is just a burdensome. It's not great being an angel.

"You will thank me for not saving you, poor human baby"

That's the beginning of everything.

"You dare to neglect your duty as an angel" Although the voice of the God was calm, you can feel the anger hidden on it.

"For your punishment, I shall grant you a ten human lives. Live as a human and experience the agony and despair of being born"

The angels on the court room of heaven realm gasps. Hearing the human lives bring chills down to their spine.

Angels don't have emotions but whenever the God brings up the life of the human, they feel scared. They watched the lives of the humans from above. It's not bright as the human thinks it is. That's why, angels feared to become a human.

"10 lives? But"

"Protect the child you unable to save. Until then, you will become an angel again"

"But, isn't the child dead?"

"You are ignorance of the fact that if he died, you will vanish instantly"

'Right, I forgot. That's my real intention from the start'

That's the last thing I heard from the God.

When I was born, I have my consciousness. As soon as I was born my mother left me on a dumpster. I survive on my own in the street. Hungry and cold. I am a beggar and I died because of hunger.

It was not good. I feel like I was tormented. Afterall, this is a punishment I received from the God himself. I deserved this.

I want to become an angel again. This time, I will not gonna take it for granted.

But..

How can I protect the child he was talking about if I am hopeless myself? I guess I have to figure it out.

In my second life, I have atleast my mother but she harrassed me everyday. Living a scar in every corner of my body. It was painful. She was a drunkard. Then I thought, my first life was even better.

And then, I met him. Aoife is his name, he has this silver hair and silver eyes. How amusing. He looks like a doll. I was a child when I first met him. I knew from that start that he was the child that I unable to protect.

We became friends but then I died  such a young age because of my mother.

Atleast now I know the person I am going to protect.. He found a way to touch my soul.

In my third life, I was born a witch. I met him again. This time I will protect him at all cost. I swear to God but I was poisoned to death.

In my fourth life. I died when I was still a baby.

I was born a slave on my fifth life. I was abused by the person who bought me. I died because of tortured. I didn't meet him in my fifth life and fourth life.

In my sixth life, I have atleast a decent life. That's why I had a chance to learn the swordsmanship. Because of that, I was branded as a genius swordsman in the country. They feared me. However, I died when a war broke. Who would have thought that the the person I need to protect is one of our enemy.

In my seventh life, I became impatient. My lives are running out and still, I can't protect him. When I was born, I have disability. I can't walk and the kids bully me. How pathetic. I died because I fall from a building.

In my eight life, I was born in a modern world. Everything is hightech. There's no such thing as magic, swords and etc. Everything seems new. However, I can't find the person I need to find. Atleast, I died as an old young lady waiting for Aiofe to show up.

In my ninth life, I was born in a large empire. Where the Emperor rules. I was born as a commoner and I have my mother by my side. She was kind and elegant.

"How pretty"

That's what she always says.

When I look in the mirror. I was surprise because this is me. This is my real face and my eyes. This is really me.

When I was an angel, I have golden eyes and white long hair. Everything about us are shining. Every strand of our hair are precious.

The only difference from before when I was an angel is the color of my hair. I have a black hair now. Like my mother. My eyes remains the same. My golden eyes.

"You are very beautiful, Lariasha"

My mother embraced me. She treated me as a precious jewel. Like a thing. For her, I am her possession.

Later on, she died. Living me behind.

My goal is to find the person I need to protect. I became nonchalant to my sorrounding. I didn't realized that I am in danger.

"What a magnificent eyes. I have never seen such a wonderful golden eyes. It's sparkling. As if, I am looking at a gem"

I did not expect to end up like this. I was only 8 years old. My mother died that's why I decided to step out from the house I am living. At first, I thought I can save myself if anything happens but I guess I was wrong. I was roaming around the street for a week before I got kidnap.

"Let me live" I said firmly.

"HAHAHAHA, don't worry. I am not gonna kill you" He said with an amused smile plastered on his face.

"After I pluck out your eyes. I will set you free. Live if you survive HAHAHAHAHA"

His laugh send shivers down my spine.

Like what he said, he literally pluck my eyes out. It was the most painful thing I experienced. Luckily, I survived. I became blind but he didn't set me free.

"As a gift for bringing me such a wonderful goods, I will bring you to the Imperial palace to become a maid. You should be thankful"

When I arrived at the Imperial palace. I was nervous. The maids are kind to me atleast. They guide me until I got used to it. Years had passed my other senses became keen.

"Lari, hurry up. We need to greet the crown prince" Sasha, my friend said.

"Crown prince? In Bronze palace?"

"Yes, I heard heard he point a sword towards his majesty, the Emperor"

"Oh, he's being punished"

"Hurry, let's go"

I knew that the crown prince are not in good terms with his father, the Emperor but not to this extent.

"Long live for the crown prince of this empire"

I frown because I did not hear any steps that's why I did not get the chance to greet.

"Raise your head"

I automatically raised my head when I heard a deep cold voice.

"How imprudent. You dare to not greet the crown prince?"

He noticed.

"Forgive me your Higness but she is blind"

I heard the head maid said. I knew that she is kneeling right now.

"Forgive me your Highness. I will accept any punishment from your grace" I said calmly.

"Forget it" he said and walk again.

What is his problem?

Later on, I asked Sasha about the crown prince. I did not expect that he is the person I needed to protect.

According to Sasha. Alesttus, thr crown prince was born with a silver hair and eyes. His eyes was pure when he was child but when the emperor send Alesttus to the battle field. His eyes was drenced with the color of blood.

Because of that, he was referred to as 'Possessed by the devil'.

No one can look straight into Alesttus eyes because of fear. His eyes was no longer pure. From that moment, Alesttus became more savage and cruel, most especially to his family.

Everyone in the palace, thinks it's a curse.

"So why did he point his sword towards his father?" I asked sasha.

"Because of his engagement. He wanted to call off the engagement with the daughter of Duke Malsen but his father opposed"

"I see"

Serving the crown prince is not easy. I feel like no one is around even though he is infront of me. I am amazed how he can hide his presence and because of that my senses also improved.

While the crown prince is still here, I was assigned to be his personal maid. I am happy because atleast, in this life, we are together. I will protect him no matter what.

"What's your name?"

One morning, he suddenly asked me.

"I am called Lariasha, your higness"

"What happened to your eyes?"

"I was kidnap and the man plucked out my eyes"

After I answered. He didn't speak. The room filled with silence.

After that conversation, he said that we can casually speak to each other and to call him by his name.

As time goes by, we became very close and fond with each other. The Bronze palace is far away from other palaces because this place is for isolation punishment.

"If I take you as my empress, will you accept it?" He asked.

I didn't have the time to answer that because the butler came in, saying that the Majesty is ordering him to go back to the main palace.

Because of that, we barely see each other anymore. Then a news of another prince came out. A child from the first empress who divorced the Emperor and runaway. He is a year older than the crown prince. Because of the sudden news. The Castle is in uproar.

The noble faction that is agaisnt in the crown prince saw the news as opportunity to bring down Allestus and made the first prince the crown prince.

Because of that, Allestus became more tyrant. He killed all the people who opposed him but when the emperor died, the one who crowned the new emperor was the first prince. The Emperor thought that if Allestus became the emperor, he will make the empire a bloodbath.

When I heard that Allestus was imprisoned and just waiting for execution. I hurriedly came to him to protect him.

"Lari" he sounded sweet yet in pain. I can feel it.

"I will protect you, don't worry" I said while unlocking the lock.

I rushed to Allestus and hug him tight. "Let's run away" I said however, he didn't moved.

"I apologized. I can't give you this Empire because it's not mine anymore. I-I disappoint you. I can't give you the world I want for the both of us. You free me from a hell yet again, I let myself to drown in hell. Lari, you are the only person I wanted. I want you to atleast feel that this world is beautiful without seeing it. The moon is bright at night and the nature is beautiful in day. I love you but I can't run away now. I can't walk anymore"

"W-what?" Tears started to pour into my cheeks. My heart is heavy.

"Let's run away. I will carry you please"

"Let's meet again, Lari"

"No!" I shouted when someone grab my arms.

"So you do have a lover. A maid at that"

I can tell that he is the new emperor.

"Look at you, look how your eyes turned into normal. So that's the power of love. I am envious" The emperor laugh.

"Kill that bitch" He said and I can feel his gaze towards me.

"Right here, right now. Infront of my poor little brother"

"You majesty, I am begging you please don't kill her. I-I will admit my wrong deeds but please atleast let her live. She didn't do anything wrong" Allestus pleaded. I can't help but to cry.

"Kill her" The emperor ordered without a second thought.

"Lari!"

When I took my last breath. The only thing that I can remember was the sound of his agonizing voice calling out my name. That was the end of my ninth life.

I was reborn again or should I say, I returned to the past where my mother died and I am still stuck in our house.
