The boys made their way back to civilization.
The trip was shorter this time, give or take still a few hours, but once they’ve discovered there was a pathway through a cliff from that ruined village, they were able to make it down the riverside before taking another path that winded even lower towards a backroad, which eventually led them to one of Lodestone’s side gates, these smaller entrances and exits common along the fences of most heavily walled cities.
And what was Lodestone but amongst the biggest walled cities of them all?

Upon passing that side threshold and the small security check that seemed mandatory these parts, the two found themselves seeing the city from a different perspective.
Well, this gate happened to be connected to a railed plateau, to the Northeast of the Capital that existed directly upon the foot of the mountains hence its natural elevation.
