4 Chapter 4

//7:00 am//

I woke up by my alarm clock going off. I looked to my right to check if Joy is still asleep, but she wasn't there. I walked downstairs to see if she was still here.

That's when I smelled something delicious coming from the kitchen.

I walked to the kitchen to see Joy making food. "What are you making?" I asked curiously. "I'm making red velvet cake," Joy said smiling at me. "Can't wait to try it out," I said smiling back.

Some minutes later the cake was ready. She placed the two plates of cakes on the table.

It looked delicious.

I took a bite from the piece of cake and my eyes open wide. "This is the best cake I've tasted so far," I said, stuffing the rest of the cake in to my mouth. There after we talked and had fun while the time passed. After 20 minutes of talking it was now time to get to work.

"It's time I get to work, you want to come with me or can you stay here by yourself?" I asked her.

"I think I'll stay here, I feel safe here," she answered.

"Here's my number in case something happens," I said as I wrote down my number on a piece of paper.

"I will get going now, take care," I said and waved a bye as I walked out of the house and into my car. I then drove off.

__—— 10 minutes later ——__

I arrived at the asylum and started walked towards the entrance. When I was near the entrance I saw my boss waiting in front of the door. He's full name is Jinyoung Park. I bowed gently to him.

"Hey, good morning Mina. I've been waiting for you," my boss said.

He has been waiting for me?

"I was going to tell you that you don't need to work anymore, since Seungmin ain't here anymore. So you can go take a pause from work," he said.

"Oh and you will still be payed money," he said.

"Oh okay. Thank you boss," I said and bowed a thanks to him, thereafter I walked back to the car.

Maybe I should buy more food?

I then drove off to the nearest shop and bought all types of food we might possibly need some day.

When i payed for the food I took the 2 bags of food into the car. Thereafter I sat down on the car seat about to start the car, but I then got a call. It's from a unknown number.

I answered. I recognized the voice immediately. It's Joy.

"Hey Joy, are you okay? What can I help you with?" I asked. She didn't answer. I got an unpleasant feeling. That's when she said something. "Help me." And the call got cut of. What happened? She sounded scared.

I drove as fast as I could back home. Around 5 minutes later I arrived. I got out of the car in a hurry and ran towards the door.

I opened the door and walked slowly in. It was quiet. To quiet. Not only that, it was dark. "Joy?" I yell whispered hoping to get an answer. But none.

I walked up the stairs, flashing light with my phone to see where I'm walking.

I slowly made my way to my bedroom. I opened the door and that's when I found her. She was tied to a chair with chains, and with a a tape covering her mouth.

I ran towards her and quickly took the tape off her mouth. I wanted to ask what happened, but I didn't in case she doesn't want to talk about it.

I was about to take the chains off too, but thats when I felt someone standing behind me. Joy started to shake. She looked terrified.

I slowly turned behind me. Eyes closed, waiting to see who this monster is. Therefore I opened my eyes. I knew it. It's him. The innocent looking devil. He stared intensively at me including his little smile too.

"You came faster than expected," he said as he slowly walked behind Joy, stroking her hair. Smiling.

"Let her go," I said confident.

"Why? If I let her go then the fun will be ruined," he said pouting and looking at me with puppy eyes. Eyes that can hypnotize anyone. But that won't work on me.

"I said let her go," I said with a stronger voice.

He glared at me. "No," he said strictly. Looks like I am getting on his nerves.

"You stay there and watch," he said. Watch what? What's he going to do now? Thereafter he took out a sharp knife. Looks like a kitchen knife. He smirked looking at the knife. Eyes showing joy and excitement. Joy screaming for help.

Seconds later the screaming stopped. He has stabbed her. She was stabbed right in the heart. Everything stopped. Irritated over myself. Why didn't I save her? I have had the chance to save her. I'm so stupid. Felt like I was going to explode.

Everything then went black.

I feel so sorry for people whom loves red velvet. 😖
