Chapter 1: The little girl

A giggle of a little girl echoed, a field of sunflowers moved with the wind. The little girls hand softly ran through the sunflowers.

The sky began to turn red, and the girls giggle turned to screams filled with agony.

"Daddy don't leave me!" Scream the little girl. "Daddy!" She scream again.

Thaurex awakens from this nightmare. His face covered in sweat as he breathes heavily with a blanket over his lower body. He calms down and looks around. He slowly picks himself up and walks towards the window that displayed the garden in his dream.

Thaurex heads to the bathroom and washes his face, looks into the mirror and nods his head. He walks to his mini garden in a glass box and pours a light stream of water over it.

He walks up to the screen with a cigarette in his mouth and a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Reveal screen" the screen reveals a planet very much like earth. "Prepare pod."

A rainy night washed over the landing pad arena and Thaurex's pad had lowered slowly.

The pad door opened up as he stepped out.

"Sergeant Thaurex sir!" Said the Launch pad director. "I'm not a Sergeant anymore, no need to call me that." Responded Thaurex.

"To me you still are." Thaurex stared at the man with confusion masked on his face. He tapped the man's shoulder, put a cigarette in his mouth and left.

Thaurex entered a futuristic floating vehicle and zoomed off. A call came up, startling Thaurex. It was the military general. "What do you want?" Asked Thaurex. The general sighed, "You know, I really didn't want to catch you off guard, like this," "what?,what is it?" Asked Thaurex. "A mission came up, and we need you and your squad, again."

Thaurex's chuckle turns to a uncontrolled laughter. " Look I know you retired but-"

"But what?"Thaurex interrupted. "I never requested you. Your team did." The general Responded.
