THE TRANSPORTATION

Richmond quickened his pace, each step heavy with the weight of Anne's pained expression etched into his memory.

The dusk painted the sky in hues of orange and pink, but he was oblivious to the beauty around him, consumed by thoughts of the recent confrontation with Anne.

'It's the fault of that stupid fool'

By now, he supposed to be with his woman not sulking around.

As he trudged along the familiar path, lost in his own turmoil, a voice shattered his reverie. "Richmond!" It echoed from somewhere nearby, pulling him out of his thoughts with a jolt.

Startled, Richmond looked around, searching for the source of the voice. His gaze landed on an acorn tree, its branches swaying gently in the evening breeze. Perched on one of the branches was Cassius, a figure from his past.

"Cassius?" Richmond squinted, trying to make out the features of the figure in the dim light. "What are you doing here?"
