The Man Eating Hatchling - Chapter 1

A shuddering gasp echoed in the deep icy caves as a human being struggled to stay alive, clearly in pain as he held onto the blackish-white egg filled with huge quills that spiked upward in a defensive manner, clearly an evolutionary trait.

The man firmly held onto the egg despite the feeling of his legs seemingly not producing blood even as his lower of body became paralyzed.

'D-dragon king...p-please h-hatch' The man whimpered out in his mind in a near praying like manner having traveled all the way out here in the glacier caves which was said to be the only place a bewilderbeast would ever willingly hatch.

But despite his desperate prattle in his mind the egg refused to hatch seemingly waiting for him to die as the blood in his arms slowly stopped pumping...causing him to release the egg as it fell out of his arms and rolled to a stop at his side as he died in the freezing caves.

*Crackle*

The egg having seemingly sensed his death began hatching as a strangely bulky white paw suddenly burst out of the large egg as a flat face suddenly began eating the egg shells surrounding its face before briefly looking up with an animalistic look in it's eyes staring at the very human body with greed in it's gaze as it opened its mouth wide.

*Crack*

The hard cracking of a skull echoed deeply in the cave as the wind outside began to stir loudly in the open cave system as the brief droplets of what sounded like ice melting and the soft yet hard squelching of bone and flesh being consumed was the only thing being heard aside from the tough breeze outside.

When the creature was seemingly finished eating the human whole it got up off its haunches as the confused and dazed look in its suddenly vanished as very human intelligence became clear in its eyes.

As the creature looked around with suspicion and confusion at it's surroundings as it briefly looked outside before stepping into the snow with hesitant steps expecting a sharp cold to penetrate his feet and when it didn't he opened his mouth releasing a pride filled roar at conquering an unknown fear.

As he stepped out arrogantly into the snow with slow deliberate stomps like a true king ready to take on the world.

[4 Weeks Later]

Hunting was hard...especially when you had an appetite as big as his...Everything was food, and no one could claim otherwise to him especially when he'd killed a large spiky thing with his tusks by ramming into it from the side.

He was especially proud of that moment and prided himself on being able to bowl it over with his weight and stab it in the gut with his tusks.

And he now knew that size and physical power meant everything in his birth place and he prided himself on being the largest.

He'd met others like him upon returning to the cave, but they weren't as large as him despite the fact that they seemed older.

They looked like exact mini copies of his own majesty but smaller and with less stockier bodies, they possessed the same huge tusks, but none were as large as his own.

And after killing one of them, a particularly arrogant one who dared to look at him with fear instead of complete and utter obedience.

He'd gained what appeared to be glowing claw marks in the air.

He'd scratched the air attempting to alter it, only to swipe it away causing him to frown as he then went on to try and make it appear again, only to be disappointed when it did not become visible again.

And after a few hours of attempting this, he decided to simply let it go and go find a place to sleep in order to digest his food properly.
